The competition doesn't have to be from the same genre. Success in the marketplace is success regardless of where it comes from. Sadly, the same is true of failure.

And just for the record, it breaks my heart that the film. didn't do well. I think it was a perfect storm of a release that had it pitted against unbeatable competition, too small of a fan base -- al...

Look, I get it. It's fun, if delusional, to fine the movie at #1 in any metric. But the reality is "Amazon Prime Video contributes 0% to a film's official worldwide box office revenue. Box office gros...

Total viewership, in terms of the total audience -- not just the loyal MOTU fan base -- is abysmal. In a normal scenario, a sequel would be unlikely without a film making 200% to 300% of its productio...

Not going to help much when it comes to earning back the costs of its huge production budget and marketing costs. I guess that it's fun to have something to be excited about, but it';s kind of like t...

And this will guarantee the film will earn back its budget and marketing costs...how?

Nixon. Still holds up. What a story, what a cast.

Where was this audience when the film needed it? Too little, too late... 🙁

Thinking of watching Dutton Ranch. Anyone watching it? Opinions?

She's awfully cute... 🙂

@ornclown You touch my heart, my friend. 🙂 "77 years young" indeed. As Tony Horton -- creator of P90x and my mentor -- said, "Aging is for those who don't know any better." It's why I work out wit...

@ornclown I get what you're saying, Orn, and I certainly respect your point of view and opinions. The problem isn't whether or not those who saw the film liked it. The problem is that not nearly enou...

@michaelholloway Does it snow where you're at, Mikey?

@ornclown   I'll be eagerly holding my breath to watch that general audience rack up the $600 million worldwide box office needed to recoup the film's $200 million budget, lol. Seriously, if you...

@ornclown   If an "overwhelmingly large number of movie-goers" legitimately enjoyed the movie then it would have broken through to $200 million in WW box office by now. It hasn't and it won't b...

@lurker-man   You're talking mostly about MOTU's loyal fan base. The general public gets the film's flaws. Try very hard to forget you are a MOTU fan and watch the trailer again. Look at the l...

And the most important thing I ever learned was "It's in giving that you get." Took me half a lifetime to learn that.

Thanks, King. I'm like a shark: either I keep swimming or I''' sink to the bottom off the ocean. :). lol

@michaelholloway   I'll have what you're smoking.... Lol. 🙂

It's all so very sad. I've waited almost half a lifetime for the new MOTU film and then we get this?! My gosh, did Mattel even read the script? The initial box office that everyone was celebrating was...

The only comment that matters: Don't kill the messenger:Weekend, suffering a brutal 70% drop and pulling in just $8.6 million. This leaves the He-Man reboot at a disastrous domestic total of roughly $...

Apparenatly I accidentally posted this thread twice. (Give me a break. I'm 77... ;)) Would appreciate it if a moderator could delete one of the threads. Ty.

For me it was truly life changing, but I'll let some of you weigh in first. I'm hoping we can learn something from each other here.

Mine was truly life changing, but I'll let some of you weigh in first. I'm hoping we've all got something to learn from each other here.

For me, #1 is easy. The original Dallas with J.R. Ewing turned prime time TV on its ear. Television's G.O.A.T. imo. Larry Hagman, Victoria Principal (sigh) Patrick Duffy, Barbara Belle Geddes and Ji...
