100 MPH winds and soooo much rain. Once in a generation derecho, hundreds of miles long and wide, extending over multiple states. Damage and flooding everywhere. Hundreds -- maybe thousands -- of trees down blocking roads, bringing down power lines. 289,000 residents without power for days. Kim and I had no power for three days. Lots of electric candles, but boy do you ever miss the things you had once you no longer have them.
Thankfully, power has been restored and we're re-provisioning our home. The lesson here is that Mother Nature is the landlord and we're all just tenants.
