I think it's important to remember that no two people have the same idea of how a MOTU movie should be made.
It's also important to realize that MOTU in and of itself has several different iterations that all borrow similar themes, but are wholly different from one another.
I remember being ridiculed by my schoolmates when I said I liked He-Man, Teela, MAA, Beastman, Evil-Lyn, and Skeletor in the 1987 movie. At first I was unsure about them, but at the time my dad (who took me to see the movie) explained why the characters didn't look like the cartoon... I can't remember exactly, but he made reference to how Christopher Reeve and Lou Ferrigno didn't look like the comic versions of Superman and Hulk, respectively.
Later on, when I was getting back into He-Man around the time New Adventures debuted on television, it really struck me how everyone in that show was different, yet, the same.
Amazon/MGM and Mattel are walking a tightrope trying to please fans of all shapes and sizes, new and old.
Nothing is going to compare to your personal "best" version of MOTU in movie form, but I think it's worth giving it a chance. If nothing else, just consider it a part of the MOTU-Multiverse...

NOT THE SKY SLED? It is too early to tell if the craft we saw He-Man fly in the New "Masters of the Universe" Trailer is the actual fan favorite SKY SLED vehicle, considering we see He-Man ride a closer matching craft in the art of the Origins Movie Fright Flghter toy packaging.

@admin I want reimagined vehicles, such as the Spydor! Seeing how good the Fright Frighter turned out has made me eager to see more.
I just hope the use of the names filters down to Origins versions.
More test screenings happened this week. One in Texas too which was a change.
Again screening went over GREAT and seems to be near final since it actually had credits given there was a post credits scene? The first screening for example had no credits.
When I went to see the Mario Galaxy movie on Thursday, my theater had a huge Masters of the Universe glass overlay on the main doors!
(Plus, multiple posters in the lobby!)
P.S. It was awesome seeing the MOTU trailer on an IMAX screen!! 🙂

Okay, I had to post this.
I went to see the Mario Galaxy movie again with my wife this afternoon, and there was a preview for the Master of the Universe movie.
We were sitting near a family consisting of mom, dad, and three little ones... and when Cringer / Battle-Cat showed up, one of the kids shouted, "Battle Cat!!!" 😍
Another one said, "Whoa! Skeletor looks cool!!"
These were little kids... so I'm taking this kind of reaction is a positive sign for the future of MOTU and the next generation of fans!

I love how, even in Katakana and Kanji, you can tell it's the Masters of the Universe logo!
This poster roughly translates as:
- "Awakening of the Super Conqueror of the Skies, He-Man!"

- "Master of the Universe"
- "A Universal Blockbuster Adventure that will Heat Up this Summer, arriving Friday, June 5."

@ornclown I can totally imagine that this movie will be huge in Japan, even though I don't think vintage MOTU had any real presence there.
