I wouldn't expect She-Ra anytime soon.
The rights to Princess of Power and the 2018 reboot belong to NBC Universal.
Even though Mattel still owns the rights to the intellectual property (to make toys), if a movie was made, or if She-Ra becomes a part of the MOTU cinematic universe, a deal would most likely have to be made where she is shared between the production companies... similar to how Spider-Man is shared between Sony and Marvel Studios.
Wasn't it announced though 2 years ago Amazon was making a live action She-Ra TV series?
@dgsimo That series actually hasn't been officially cancelled, and Heidi Schreck is still attached to write it.
However, it is being developed by DreamWorks Television and Amazon is set to license it for broadcast, but the quagmire of rights ownership between NBC / DreamWorks and Mattel have kept it suppressed...
Right now, the outlook isn't good... that's why I would be really surprised to see She-Ra pop up in a MOTU movie right now.

Yeah same. The local theater is showing the early access screening on their EMX screen and mentions the film is now PG-13 rated, and the local Cinemark might have D-Box seats for this.
So now I'm in the dilemma of experiencing the film myself on the 3rd and then taking my young boys Friday in D-Box or wait for Friday? 😆

@ehenyo That is a really fun interview... much better than some of the past Fandango vids I've watched.
Also, love it or hate it, the "What's Goin' On?!" Prince Adam video helped keep MOTU afloat in the public consciousness during all that down time in the 90s.
And, I might be reading a bit too much into it, but Travis's response to the sequel question gives me hope for more MOTU movies in the future. 😎

I have my tickets (4) for June 5th at 7ish!! I plan to hop to different formats on the 6th and 7th!
My wife and I went to see The Sheep Detectives today and saw the new MOTU movie poster!

I have tickets to the AMC multi-plex for my wife and I on Friday night (where I can get my tin-sign!)
I also got tickets for my dad, two brothers, best friend, nephew, and myself for Sunday morning at the Alamo Drafthouse (with Skeletor t-shirt!)
I also plan on stopping by the local Regal theater on the day they put out the MOTU swag so I can pick up my popcorn buckets! (You don't actually have to buy a ticket to get to the swag shop!!)

at 4:18 He says the same thing I've been trying to say & you all have ignored me & abandoned me completely. These characters are like old friends. A connection to better days. Good memories from my childhood. "IT BRINGS ME HOME!" And my old friends Man-At-Arms, Teela, Ram-Man & Tri-Klops were WHITE! I don't recognize these race swapped characters.
Hollywood just ruined MOTU & I'm the only MOTU fan screaming into the void. Nobody cares! Nobody will listen. You guys are going to mindlessly feed the beast & keep this crap that everybody else hates going forever.
And then you call me a racist. I think it's you & Hollywood who are the racists. You have a perfectly good BLACK character, Clamp Champ, that you didn't even use. Racists against white people. I haven't seen any black, Asian or Hispanic characters changed to white. Isn't it funny how that works? Race-Swapping only erases the white characters. It's a door that only swings 1 way.
And none of you guys care at all. You're just going to insult me & buy your tickets like the mindless, addicted consumers you are. All of you & all of the Youtubers are Pixel Dan, Mega Jay Retro, Toy Habits, Toy Sorceress & Geek.Dad.Life now.

@sci-fitsunami It's really ok that you don't like this new adaptation. It's also ok that other people are willing to accept that it's an adaptation, that's it not 100% exact to any particular prior incarnation of the franchise, and are willing to give it a chance.
The new movie isn't meant to take the place of the place of the mini-comics, or the Filmation show, or the 2012 comics, or (insert variant here)... it's just trying to earn its own spot on the shelf.
The 1987 movie didn't feel very He-man to me at all! It was fun in its own way and didn't take away from anything MOTU that I'd enjoyed before or after.
