Dream Date Skeletor is currently waitlisted on BBTS if anyone wants to try and get him

I almost ordered Chronicles movie Skeletor because I needed a pick-me-up, but then I bailed, I’m just not sure how many Chronicles I want, and he looks too damn exactly similar to my CORE version!. 
The exact same design style, just bigger and more high-end. But much more pricey.

I don’t really want too many movie Chronicles… Trying to cut down, and I rather enjoy my sizable Core Collection (I’m considering the castle!) and have many of the Origins. At least those are wacky and thick haha

@cosmic I really like the movie Chronicles figures, on their own they are great figures. Detailed, great articulation, just nice overall (minus the odd QC here and there)

But... I prefer the movie Origins figures! The variety of shapes and sizes and different textures are just more fun than Chronicles imo.

@johnnyotool The Origins movie versions definitely have more variety in sizes and shapes, and the thic buck is just always so fun.

Some of them I find a bit too thick for a movie likeness and a bit comical, but nevertheless fun! It’s true

I’m just surprised how much I also enjoy the Core line. Maybe it’s mostly the price haha. But something about their size , all the detail… they are kind of miniature Chronicles and I enjoy that!

I’m still even pondering to buy the castle, it’s compact!

But yeah, ofc Chronicles is high end. Just find it ridick at times, to buy the exact same movie character in multiple versions haha

After watching a fun video with the Chronicles Battle Cat, and seeing online that maybe he could work with a MV He-Man, I pulled the trigger spontaneously and ordered him.

It helps that he’s a bit cheaper now. 
I had been circling this figure for a while, but there’s always something else to buy 😅 Looking forward to put Nic-Man on his steed!

@cosmic Chronicles Cat is outstanding, I think you'll be very happy with that one.

@cosmic I’m happy for you! Personally, I’m done with mounts from Mattel, since they can’t seem to look beyond the two famous felines of the franchise. That said, I should probably thank them more than anything (lol). For example, their Panthor Chronicles is such a letdown compared to the New Eternia version. Seriously, why even bother if it’s not going to surpass the previous release?

I’ve been selective, because of space issues, I don’t even have the Masterverse Battle Cat. But I have both cats from Origins, and I got the NE Panthor (I always liked him a bit better than BC).

Now that a really great BC is available for the bigger size, I wanted to get him, especially to recreate the movie look with my He-Man.

I haven’t looked too closely at Chronic Panthor because i have that NE, but I would think that maaaybe the Chronic one is a mass release, which usually needs to be a bit easier to produce.

My Origins one is flocked of course, so I don’t see myself getting another one.

Oh! And I have the Coral James Jean one lol I’m good with Panthor.

@johnnyotool After Mattel's iron fist over the past few years, particularly with the Masterverse line (R.I.P?), I'm in a state of shock right now, suspecting pretty much the same as you.

@brasco I long for the conjuncture when we would say: 'Lady Slither Chronicles, Mask of Powers Chronicles, and so on, are available on BBTS!' I mean, I've been so bored these past few months with how Mattel has been handling Motu...

@onlyoneskeletor I agree it’s a bit of a boring time, and I’m still more engaged with Mattel compared with you 🙃

Looking back, I can’t even remember much of SDCC except that Teela and a couple nice new redesigns in Chronicles that were mostly just concept drawings! I would like to see those asap…

we’re in the post-movie hangover, while movie figures are still coming out… but those “New Eternia” type Chronicles are still far away.

So I’m filling some MV gaps, eying that “Core” Castle, and secretly getting some Marvel Legends and Super7 Thundercats.

@onlyoneskeletor I'm so bored too. I never thought that in a "MOVIE YEAR!" Mattel would have the lamest SDCC in memory for MOTU instead of going all out.

@cosmic Oh, I've been there before! Guess what? I'm now reselling some of these extra franchises, since Mondo tempted us back with their 200X lines. It's as if we're puppets in the hands of this industry. I'm excited, but I also feel a bit insecure. The offering frequently fails to align with my wishlist, a situation that has persisted for an extended period.How am I navigating this situation? That's the million-dollar question... @durendal I'm telling you, having to scour the depths of the web just to find a few surprises here and there (such as Bad To The Bones by Ramen Toys, Savage Crucible with their incredible potential at delivering great army builders, or even third parties who are 3D printing additional Motu creatures like Geldor's) is anything but common when a major manufacturer boasts that they have the Motu licence but fails to excite you with it. 👎

@onlyoneskeletor I’m with you on that. While  bored, I’m still playing catch up with a few here and there. I made a nice dent over the last month and a half.  I wanna say that I added 11 origins CC and 200x and 5 or 6 Masterverse and Chronicles.

@brasco I must admit that it is one of the positive results of such a situation. For me, it's more about catching up with the inevitable display cases, etc., which is extremely stressful, but there comes a time when you can no longer ignore your accumulated boxes and other clutter, and you have to take responsibility for your purchases.

@brasco Goodness me! It’s as if Mattel had refocused the MOTU universe exclusively on He-Man and Skeletor, particularly over the last ten years, to the extent that anything that strays from them is boring, rubbish, and so on…

Yeah his legs are definitely proportionately off.  And they couldn't include his snake staff?  Or shield at least?  I mean c'mon now.
