Very cool to see. Hard to find proper vintage size comparisons, though I haven’t looked that hard. Battle Ram Blog shows the packaging, with King Hoss being captured by Tytus. (it seems the scans are from He-Man.org originally)

https://battleramblog.com/tytus-heroic-giant-warlord-1988/

(I think Mighty Masters is closer to this ratio, but it depends how big you really want the giants to be in your world)

Yeah that's the picture I found too.

If it were up to me I'd have the giants be Skell-Ra or André the Giant sized and write a story where the heroic warriors go to find Tytus and he tells them how stories about him have been exaggerated.

@smitty-81 Ha, that would be a fun way to explain their more modest size.

Maybe they could replicate the MOTU Classics Giants? I know the molds are probably gone, but still, it helps to scan an existing product.

Next to Origins, they would be even more impressive.
I know some Collectors were disappointed about them back in the day, but check this out, I find them quite impressive!

@cosmic I wouldn't want to see the Classics molds re-used at all. While they looked great, they were undersized (particularly for the larger Classics scale) and the articulation was subpar. Origins versions of the giants need to be their own thing, and they absolutely need to replicate the size of the vintage originals, which I believe were 16 inches tall. Eff the rooted hair though.

Yeah I know the criticisms about the Classics giants, but as you say they look cool, and they are expensive to get now.

For some of us with more modest space, (and wallets), some of these over size items can feel a bit hard to handle and slightly obnoxious.

The Classics giants next to an Origins figure would be sufficiently gigantic for me, at least. I would assume since they don’t have the molds anymore, they would rebuild with Origins-appropriate articulation.

Rooted hair would be atypical for Origins, so I would think they would do plastic hair, for a Classics size giant. But if it’s really 16in, I could see them going for rooted hair. 😬

Whichever way they go, I do hope we’ll get them, in a cool modernized look, with fabulous illustrations and a mini (maxi??) comic,…
The Skell-Ra / André bucks would be not enough.

They are doing some really cool stuff! Costs more than Origins, but not prohibitively expensive. I have a couple of their bad guys on preorder.

Yeah but... I really like Red Sonja, but I don't really NEED Conan or Hell Boy. Origins has given me enough skeletons and skull-faced characters the Chthonic Knight is cool, but what does he do for me that VC Skel-Knight doesn't?

Now...Fell Necromancer she has my interest, just like that goth chick I knew in high school.

@smitty-81 Yes the Necromancer, I got her on preorder, I just checked and she’s actually the only one. 😅 I find their female buck very successful.

I do like the Chtonic Knight, I find him dark and impressive, but I can’t have everything… maybe I’ll still get him when he comes out.

The skeletons are fun but you’re right, we’ve gotten a lot of that in Origins already. I’m still intrigued…

I think that's what they were going for.

I actually prefer the Immortal Champions Skeletal Guardian to the Origins Skeleton Warriors... the Origins Mer-Man feet and chest molds just don't do it for me.

The articulation on the Immortal Champions line is very similar to that of Origins, however, if you like these figures, you check out the Boss Fight Studios Epic H.A.C.K.S. line.

It offers incredible articulation, tons of accessories, and really nice sculpts... though, they do not jell with the Origins like the IC line does.

Something else I picked up, that you might be interested in, is the Icon Collectibles 5.5" figures. So far, they have Conan, John Carter, and Death Dealer:

There are more planned for the near future. These offer more traditional articulation like vintage MOTU, but include ball-jointed neck, hips, and ankles.

Plus, the sculpts are simply incredible.

@brasco Hmmm... still nothing on their website.

I'm only missing the Rammy / Mossy 2-pack, and it has been elusive on the secondary...

Looks like I'm heading out to my local Targets this week!

I got a notification my Origins movie Man-At-Arms is preparing to ship from Target, while the other two from that order are still backordered (Origins movie Tri-Klops & sketch Skelly).
Incidentally, I only took MAA to get free shipping 😅 I look forward to the others a bit more. (i like my Core MAA better…) But I’ll take him.

It's weird that we're only days away from SDCC and yet there have been no leaks, teases, or even rumours. In the past we'd regularly at least get rumours often weeks in advance from the usual sources, but this year (and I think last year) it's crickets in here.

Why?

Yup... I just checked with the Target near an appointment I have this afternoon. They have three on the shelf, so I'm going to pop in later and snag one!

@durendal Preview night is scheduled for tonight... so I'm hoping to hear something new.

However, this seems to be common among many fandoms. The only weighty leak I've read so far has been Hasbro's acquisition of the Legend of Zelda license, and preorders for the associated figures.

It would be shocking not to see again a bunch of new and existing figures for preview night, with a few subsequent reveals throughout the days. That’s how it’s always been.

But I totally agree, it’s been strange that we know nothing about what comes next after the next rounds of movie figures. They still go on into fall, Chronicles Evil-Lyn comes late. So perhaps there isn’t much new to leak. Movie is still important, as today is the digital release, and it’s imperative to use that , even if it’s not as big as we hoped.

There will be more events this year to showcase what’s next.

But I really hope we’ll also see a follow-up to that „inaugural” Scare-Glow, (Clawful?), and a few upcoming Creations releases for Origins and maybe Chronicles.

Also possibly more 200X Origins?

A bit of business as usual.

@cosmic All I really want is to see Pixel Dan interview a Mattel spokesman about the future, if there is one, of Masterverse. That alone would absolutely make my day.
