We have the Power!
I like this episode, but I do feel it could have been a little better. I think the lesson would be better if in one of the stories the person didn't convert into someone really good looking, it almost defeats the lesson they're conveying. Totally agree with you on the villains though, the Evil Warriors are truly threatening, which is hit and miss especially in latter episodes.
It's also a shame that we're already done with Sy-Clone, after two straight days. At least he gets slightly more to do in this one, but it would have been fun if he joined the adventure. Also interesting that his two appearances were produced back to back, yet they changed his voice. Also interesting that we now have two days in a row of He-Man and Battlecat approaching Snake Mountain only to have boulders thrown at them outside by Whiplash.
Good episode but not on my favorites list.
Sy-Klone appeared in the last episode and is it just me or did he have a different voice? His one in this one is pretty weird.
The whole ruined kingdom, big robot and Moragore having bat wing ears gives me real Horde vibes. Makes me wonder if at that time when they were developing She-Ra, Moragore was meant to have a connection to the Horde in some way but the idea was dropped.
I love Skeletor's throne in the Collector having skulls on the front of it's armrests. Just a funny detail of egotism.
Fun unrelated fact: In the mid 80s, animation legend and the Sega to Disney's Nintendo, Don Bluth was planning to make his own animated film version of Beauty and the Beast until he heard that his former employer was gonna do their own version. There's fully colored pieces of concept art online and they look beautiful.
Makes me wonder why he didn't just try beating them to the punch but eh, guess he decided the movie concepts of immigrant mice, mafia dogs and dinosaurs that won't go extinct because of 13 damn direct-to-video sequels sounded way more appealing for being less traditional.
@battlecat327 I agree with you that converting to a handsome person isn't the best lesson but that is the classic Beauty and the Beast's story. The Beast was once a handsome prince until he was cursed and changed into a monster. Belle fell in love with him as a monster and it broke the curse.
@slycooperastroboy51 Sky-Klone had a different voice in the last episode he sounded more like Modulok. Lou Scheimer did his voice both times so it's weird he didn't make it sound the same.
3 stars. Great episode. Surprise sy-clone wasn't used more, he was a hero with strong definable powers who would easily be able to be used in episodes unlike some of the others like man-e-faces.
