Amazon coming in clutch again. Today the Roton and Chronicles Skeletor and Trap-Jaw arrived today! I won't get a chance to open them until another day but the Roton is bigger than I expected but so cool looking with a neat feature.

Trap-Jaw and Skeletor though look so freaking awesome! The paint app on Trap-Jaw is especially good with the blue body paint and the various Metallica on the cybernetic features especially the legs.

Are Chronicles figures compatible with the origins vehicles?

April 8th, 18th, 21st, 24th, 25th, 27th and now they're saying May 5th. I wasted gas on all those days trying to get Scare Glow. They keep telling me they will be in stock on those days but they are simply not shipping anything to my store. They put the tags up, they have 2 pegs for Core, 1 spot on the shelf that says "First Ones" and 1 spot for "Chronicles".

I GIVE UP!  There are only 2 items I want out of all this new *GARBAGE* they just released. Scare Glow & the Fright Fighter. And as usual, Target is easy to get while Walmart is impossible. Here we go with another TOG Mer-Man.

Chronicles is off to a horrible start. I'll never forget this one. The worst botched release I've ever seen in my 49 years of toy collecting. First canceling Masterverse. then the scale issue, now this. What a dumpster fire all thanks to Walmart.

I had to get another Deluxe Power Sword since my youngest boys were fighting over the one so I ordered it off Amazon. Surprised to see it show up today in a dedicated MOTU shipper box!

Also surprised to get the Chronicles Fisto and Ram-Man 2 pack since it wasn't scheduled to release for another 2 weeks.

@dgsimo Very cool!
Sometimes Amazon gets their release dates crossed…

Mine’s the opposite– I pre-ordered the Core 4-pack and it’s scheduled to come May 15th.
But now the pack is in stock currently, for delivery the next day?! Meanwhile I still have to wait for my preorder two weeks! 🤪

(I’m too lazy to cancel etc also b/c I’m getting a big delivery from BBTS today, that’s enough for now).

You won't have to cancel, my 2 packs said the same then converted and shipped the next day so the same will likely happen to the Core 4 pack too!

I decided to get a Core Teela to go along with my Origins He-Man, Spikor, and Beast Man.

She is almost the same exact size as the cartoon collection Teela and fits right in as a place holder until the real thing gets announced.

The crazy thing is that I was not expecting this kind of quality on a $10 figure!

A ball-jointed head, ball shoulders, twist and swivel elbows and knees, ball hips, cut waist and wrists, two accessories, soft rubber hair, great sculpt, and a much better paint job than the online photos show - using a nice mother-of-pearl metallic gold!

Bravo Mattel! Well met!

I got my big load of toys from BBTS, actually not that many MOTU movie toys, but yeah, several.

Impressed by Chronicles but He-Man is a bit small.

Core Roboto does have a bit of a translucent chest plate, with technical details showing, á la vintage, and his action feature is surprisingly fun! 😆

Yeah I let the kids finally open the 3 Core figures and took a closer look and was really impressed. I thought Teela looked a bit meh in the package but once freed and able to take a closer look the figure looked way better in hand. Yeah the paint app really shines as well as the gold accents too.

Beastman and He-Man were equally great looking too. Terrific details and articulation which when they're only $10 seems insane!

My youngest asked where Battle Cat was...guess who's coming today with Skeletor. 😆

@dgsimo Excellent!!

How cool that your kids are enjoying the same characters and excitement that we did when we were kids!

It’s been a while since I’ve been so excited about my Pile of Loot shipment!

Playing around with Chronicles and Core and Origins.

These Chronicles have really nice joints, and not a frozen joint in sight!

They also have more realistically sculpted muscles, compared to Masterverse. This is easy to like, no getting used to stylized designs needed. (I still love MV, too, ofc).

Some reasons why everyone is reacting positively. That, and the hype of course.
I already got caught up in it.
(not getting all the figures though)

I know right! It's been super cool to see their excitement and relive some of that! At first it was just "our thing" with my youngest, who is going on 4 in 2 weeks, as his older brothers weren't too interested but as I started getting more Origins figures and vehicles along with the Mark Taylor Castle Grayskull and then seeing the movie trailer they perked up and got interested to where they started asking for their own He-Man stuff. lol

Now we're all in! I could never get them to sit still and watch the Filmation cartoon at home so when we went toy hunting on April 25th for the movie stuff, I brought my Plaion blu-ray set and played it in the car and they were hooked. It's become routine now that instead of Bluey for the morning commute to school it's He-Man! 😆

The Core Battle Cat arrived and is quite good! It doesn't have as much articulation I believe as the Origins one since it's a sound and motion feature but the sculpt and paint is clean and detailed and looks great with He-Man. My son loves it!

My Mattel Creations order is seemingly MIA as it was supposed to be delivered via FedEx yesterday but that's come and gone and the only info I have was it leaving CA last week...

I've got all my Chronicles figures opened up and lazily thrown on a shelf for now so I could put the packaging in storage, so forgive the crappy phone photo. lol I need to figure out a better display option for sure but I really do dig these figures alot!

So what's the deal with the brick & mortar stores? Is anybody actually stocking this stuff anywhere? I haven't been around to the other stores in my area but my closest Walmarts & Target don't have anything. My Walmart has a huge Mandalorian & Grogu island display but nothing for MOTU. I'm not really understanding where you guys are getting this "hype" from. Is there any actual hype outside of Youtube? In my area, except for watching Youtube, MOTU is pretty much non-existent. But they are pushing Star Wars hard.

I was hoping to see a ton of Scare Glows & Battle Cats in the stores so I could snag some on clearance in the fall for custom fodder.

Since MOTU is MIA/DOA, I picked up the new Armorsaurs to go with MOTU as new versions of Bionatops, Tyrantasaurus & Battle Raptor.

@sci-fitsunami Similar situation, none of my local stores carry MOTU.

It's very encouraging to see all the photos on Reddit of people finding end-cap displays and actual stock in their Targets and Walmarts, and there do seem to be quite a lot more photos at the moment. Perhaps one day I'll see some of these figures in store.

I've been seeing a lot of MOTU in stores the last couple of weeks. Just picked up the movie Origins figures last night.

Huh. I completely forgot about Toy Fair and realized earlier Mattel ended up axing one of the accessories for Chronicles Skeletor? At Toy Fair he was displayed with a chalice accessory but it' didn't seem to make it for the final figure.

So today I go into my crappy Walmart & see the movie core figure hanging on the pegs. Still no Scare Glow. So I have an employee scan the tag on the shelf & she says one of the Walmarts near me have 4. So I race up there & what do they have? Pretty-Boy He-Man & Night Viper Tri-Klops. The movie shit that I wouldn't want if they paid me to take it. So I give up! I'm done with this madness until that damn thing comes back IN STOCK on their website. I only want 1 figure & Walmart won't let me have it. I waste my time & gas for nothing.

The ironic thing is Night Viper Tri-Klops was sitting right next to a bunch of GI Joe Classified Night Vipers. Two snipers wearing green & black with 1 red eye/lense thingy. What are the odds? lol

On the bright side, I got my MISB Classics Spikor today. The only really good Spikor figure ever made. I've been wanting one for a long time & finally pulled the trigger. And I got the movie Fright Fighter yesterday & I have a vintage Fright Fighter on the way. The Fright Fighter was my #1 most wanted vehicle to be reissued in Origins. We didn't get a reissue but now we have 2 different models which is better. I honestly don't know how the hell I totally missed the Fright Fighter back in the 80s. I'm sure if I saw it I would've bought it immediately. It's my favorite MOTU vehicle & I don't think I ever saw it back when it was released.

Walmart now says Scare Glow is available for shipping. But it's from a 3rd party seller for $56.87. God I fuckin HATE these parasites!

According to an anonymous but reliable source from Toy Habits, after Scareglow, Clawful is set to be the next figure in the Motu Chronicles line. Interestingly, a friend of theirs who has seen the Motu movie twice has confirmed (spoiler alert) that he doesn’t appear in the adaptation. I wouldn't be surprised if he turn out being some kind of New Eternia mashup as his predecessor.

Why are they making the same fucking characters we already have? While Clawful is in my top 4 along with Spikor, Webstor & Stinkor, I don't need another one. The one we already got in Masterverse is perfect. We *NEED* the Snakemen, Extendar, Rio-Blast, the comet warriors, Blast Attak and the rest of the girls from The Great Rebellion. Not to mention the rest of New Adventures & Saurod from the 87 movie. This shit that Mattel keeps pulling should be pissing everybody off by now. There should be some kind of law: DON'T release the same character you already made until you've covered all the others at least once.

Why am I the only one pissed over this? Why is everybody excited to keep buying the same characters over & over & over again?  It's something I will never be able to understand. These figures are EXPENSIVE!!!  Why would any of you want to spend another $30 on a character you already have when that $30 should be going toward a character you don't have yet?

Every time Toy Habits posts one of these my blood boils & I'm sitting here thinking WTF??? I want Rio-Blast not another Clawful. They could've made Rio-Blast for Revolution but instead we got another Hordak that nobody cares about, marked down everywhere because he sold so well.

And is this going to be yet another Walmart exclusive that will be impossible to get unless you're lucky & happen to live in an area that Walmart chooses to stock? Walmart stores are not stocking Scare Glow in certain areas. They are picking & choosing which stores will get them. I happen to be one of the unlucky ones, as usual, who cannot get him.

And then you say I'm "NEGATIVE". Fuck yeah I'm negative! Why wouldn't I be?

I'd actually love for the Chronicles version of Clawful to lean more toward the Filmation design... seriously, an updated, more realistic looking version would be awesome.

Judging by Scare Glow, it might be another very detailed, modernized version… if it is too similar to the great MV figure, I might not need this. If they have some new ideas, I might go for it. I love Clawful!

I have issues with the Classics version (arms too short, especially the big Claw!), so I wouldn’t mind something more classic again? Can be spiced up.

We’ll see… he is a good choice for a classic villain that hasn’t been overdone.
But it is true, for existing collectors… the MV is still available and a great figure.
