Well this exciting! Just mere months ago some Masters of the Universe: Origins collectors were concerned that the long running action figure line was going to be replaced with the Kids "First Ones" Core Action Figure line. Well now those fears have been calmed even more with the announcement that there will be new "Masters of the Universe" Movie figures in the Origins Style: HE-MAN, TRAP JAW and SPIKOR! Plus a brand new movie themed vehicle is coming to Origins: The FRIGHT FIGHTER! No information on a release date yet (or if minicomics will be included) but we'll be sure…
We have the Power!
I hope they included mini comics that shoe horn the movie characters and designs into a new mini comic setting, like the did in 87

What a relief! This is a very nice reinterpretation of the Fright Frighter, which is even more insect-like visually than the vintage one. Thanks! I can now remove that reference from my Origins wish list of vehicles.
So we're getting movie figures on the Origins buck now too? Too much overlap...
Spikor: I like that he has spikes all over his body. That's something that was lame about the vintage figure, that he only had them on his head and armour. I don't like the humanoid face on this new one however, and the monochromatic colour is bland. And the shade of purple is too pale.
Goat Man: I like that all of his skin is red, and the hoof feet. Makes him look more monstrous and demonic. The vintage one looked silly because it looked like he was a regular human wearing a dumb mask.
We couldn't get a Fright Fighter in 6 years of Origins that's accurate to the vintage one, but now out of the blue they throw a re-imagined movie version at us? Mattel is so frustrating.

I, for one, am happy to have anything origins or movie related. Because our other option was nothing.

Ok I wasn’t a fan of the chronicles movie figures but these are a huge improvement for me
Fright Fighter packaging also gives us our first peek at the movie version of the Sky Sled too.
Too. Many. Motu. Lines.
Honestly, they are overstretching this IP to the breaking point now. This cannot possibly be profitable or work in service of cultivating their fan base.
Too. Many. Motu. Lines.
I would never voice a complaint about that, since it's precisely because of that that I could acquire a few gems that were still missing in my Motu collection initiated with Classics: Fright Zone, Land Shark and Fright Frighter, and soon a Battle Bones from another company.
@lasastard Mattel is praying that this movie will be enough of a hit to induce a new generation of kids to obsessively collect these toy lines. I wish them success, but we're a long way from the 80's...
@smitty-81 With any luck, the movie will be big enough to get kids to pressure their parents to buy all this stuff, which I selfishly hope will enable the release of a vintage accurate FF to please the OG's like myself.

It worked for Transformers.
