With such a big figure, the ratio of thickness of flocking to the size of his muscles and frown lines etc is different than with an Origins Moss Man, that might help. It’s as if the flocking is relatively thinner.I'm a bit amazed at how the sculpt detail isn't completely obscured by the flocking.
And who knows, they might have even slightly altered the sculpt, making it even “crisper”.
He looks very impressive!
@smokinya Next Toy Talk is Aug 20th, maybe they’ll have some info on 1/6 timelines. I’d guess we see at least 1 before the end of the year.
Was able to spend some time with Panthor, gave most of the articulation a work out. Haven’t gotten the rear knees to play nice yet. I also don’t know how much up/down movement to expect out of the neck area, haven’t had success there either.
Okay…! Basically, my suspicions were confirmed just a few hours ago (Mondo Toy Talk, Episode 54), and this additional product featured at the Motufest convention is indeed another variant: the Disco Skeletor for the 1/12-scale MOTU line. Apparently, it’s an “in person exclusive,” so I’m all the more relieved that this offer doesn’t apply to me, because trying to get my hands on it would have been a real nightmare.

Based on what Hector and Peter were saying it seems like the Fire and Ice two-pack will be sold on the Mondo website. So you shouldn't have to buy a MOTUfest ticket to get them if anyone is picking them up.
Got my 200x Skeletor today and he is incredible. I cannot get over how smooth the joints feel on these figures. I'm greedily hoping that Mondo's 1/12th offerings pick up some speed. They're all sold out and it seems to be a popular avenue for them. I want to get as many 200x figures as possible as fast as possible lol.
Disco Skeletor looked cool, but recolor variants are the bottom of the barrel IMO (Faker being an exception since he's a seperate character). I'm very tempted to grab Fire and Ice though. They look gorgeous so I might be snagging them and breaking my self-imposed rules
@smokinya Have you started displaying your Skeletor figure? At the moment, I’m investing in some extra furniture so I can create new battle scenes. As for the variants, if you remember correctly, not so long ago I shared my thoughts on this very possibility: to what extent Mondo might try to capitalise on this new MOTU franchise. But without really expecting to get them, at least not any of these attempts to push He-Man and Skeletor beyond the bounds of reason (lol)....
@onlyoneskeletor I haven't displayed the Skeletor yet. I took him out to play around with him and then put him back. I'm in the process of building a house (take possession in mid-November according to my builder) so for the time being I'm leaving him and several other figures in their plastic prisons. My Tweeterhead Beastman has been sitting in his box for the past 4 months, never even opened it yet 😬 I'm currently working on planning out my display cases. Thinking I'm going to invest in some ModuCases for the collection.
When you say furniture are you talking display accessories to pose the figures with? If so that sounds pretty cool! What have you purchased/are thinking of purchasing? Everything I have now is just sitting on their bases, but I plan to level things up once I get a bigger and better space for them.
Regarding Mondo going heavy in the He-Man and Skeletor I'm thinking we'll probably get a Snake Armor He-Man for sure. Possibly another Skeletor variant at some point, but Snake Armor is a certainty. Other than Fire Armor and Disco Skeletor the only other variant of Skeletor that was popular was the Samurai armor no?
@smokinya Oh, I see. I know that feeling of being unable to move forward in life while putting exciting opportunities on hold. Fortunately, you won't have to wait long to enjoy these treasures again. Regarding the He-Man and Skeletor variants, I was surprised by how popular their Battle Armour variants were (I find them so dispensable!). However, if you look closely, the Motu Origins line gave us the irresistible Snake Armor Skeletor variant. I don't understand why they tried multiple times to create something similar to the aforementioned snake variant back then; it just screams lack of inspiration. Yes, I bought several shelves and plan to buy additional display cases to accommodate that ever-growing Mondo collection! It's ironic when you think about it, as I swore to myself that I was done with them after reselling my 1/6 figures years ago. Never say never, I guess! 🤔
I saw that Mondo is re-releasing 1:12 MAA and Clawful, and had another look at them… I just can’t justify it I think… nice as they are.
My friends abroad say shipping is $50, I forgot is that the same within the US ?
@cosmic my shipping to get to Canada isn’t $50. It was more like $30ish if I remember correctly. I will say that the 200x figures are 100% worth it though. Some of the best joints I've ever had on a figure.
However, I did just get SLAMMED with $65 CAD on duty charges, first time I’ve ever paid duty for a Mondo product for the Fire and Ice 200x variants. I ended up getting them even though I said I wouldn’t 😭 I assume it’s probably since Mondo shipped them to themselves first instead of the figure coming straight from the factory to me

Yeah I know Germany is $50 shipping PER figure… not sure if they also have to pay some duty.
Curious what it is in the US…
They may be worth it, considering today’s prices and expenses… and their quality. Still far out of reach for one like me.
I also need my fix more often… so the lower tier toys need to do for me.
