Evil Lyn was all over Ebay for more than fair price until a week or so ago...suddenly she is nowhere to be found or they ask 300 $ (literally)...nonsense...is Wundar officially released anywhere yet ? there are more than few bastards on Ebay asking 90$ for him
@yen1893 I don’t think Wun-Dar is released anywhere, neither US nor elsewhere?Haven’t heard anything. I monitor things in Germany through friends, he’s not there either.
They to have Evil-Lyn over there, though. I see people finding her in stores.
She’s also listed here in US on Walmart.com But never in stock when I looked.
You might by now have heard our many complaints… Online, their website must be infested with bots that order immediately and automatically, when the (MOTU) exclusive is put up. Hence, sold out in minutes (seconds??).
The stores on the other hand, seem to be very hit and miss, and have a similar problem, when collectors hit up friendships with people who work there, getting first dibs on hot new stuff.
The toy companies are dependent on doing deals with Target and WM, but WM just doesn’t care at all about the collectors, they just want to sell (out) as quickly as possible.
So the hits are probably welcome to them
I immediately thought of your reply when I saw this just now
@brianwhynot my brother told me that he saw a video about the delivery drivers taking them and buying them, so they never make it to shelves. That was with other toy lines but who’s to say that’s how these guys get all that inventory. This was the first time I’ve ever heard this
@brasco I recognize the seller from that screenshot...something shady with that guy definitely...he sold hundred + figures of each Vintage Collection release...65$ per...before each figure was officially released...update 152 Evil Lyn figures at the moment and counting
Yeah it’s madness, American entrepreneurship at its finest. People see an opportunity… etc etc If a thing sells for so much money on the aftermarket…
The world today: The only way you get ahead in life is if you have a scheme. I hate it.
As there is no “toy police” and Mattel doesn’t have a way to pressure Walmart to watch out for this opportunism… we’re screwed.
But who’s surprised, Walmart is not an ethical company to begin with, paying their employees poorly so they stay in poverty yada yada
(This is not politics talk, this is talk about the state of action figure retail)
@onlyoneskeletor I bit the bullet on the VC Evil-Lyn on Ebay, in a deal that was not actually bad for shipping to me. Wun-Dar I don't know if I can justify this month sadly. I hope by random luck that Wun-Dar might come to Canada.
@thedoctor One step at a time! For the time being, you have one less target to consider. 😎
@onlyoneskeletor That is one way of looking at it. For Masterverse I went all in so far the only ones I don't have are the Virgil Abloh ones. I even have a few doubles for customs I want to do if I ever get around to it.
@thedoctor I see. I'm just a distant admirer of this kind of approach; therefore, I'm content to simply appreciate them without actually owning them.
Is anyone spotting Evil-lyn or Wun-dar at their Walmarts in the US?
Seems like Mer-man is starting to hit some stores… are they just behind.
@grayskullguardsman Mer-man hit by me about 2 months ago(New York) nothing else since

Same, in Orlando, FL. Last I checked, still one Mer-Man and a couple Teelas there (John Young Pkwy & Sand Lake Rd)
How is it with Vintage Man-At-Arms? I can see the price has come down on reseller sites, close to regular retail price (!), so I was assuming he must be in good supply everywhere?
@onlyoneskeletor I would have been content to not collect again but I just kept running into figures I wanted in random places so I took it as a sign, my wife calls it insanity.
@thedoctor She really shouldn’t worry too much, as there are far greater and more concerning degrees of madness out there. 😆 On a more serious note, I’m happy to have reached this point in my collecting hobby, where I’m largely content with what I’ve accumulated over the decades, only occasionally picking out that one special piece Mattel or another manufacturer might tempt me with one last time. It’s been quite a journey...
@onlyoneskeletor Congratulations! I’m trying to get to that point, currently filling some gaps and pulling the trigger on some long postponed purchases.
We’ll see how it goes, when the next big thing gets introduced…
@onlyoneskeletor My collecting has not been limited to figures as I also have a ton of records, CD's cassettes, VHS, comics, books and other odds and ends. I've given up the goal of a complete Origins run as most of the ones I missed out on are now to rich for my blood. I do want to get a complete Masterverse run. I haven't collected any figures of any other lines prior to Origins and Masterverse starting. The wife only gets mad when we have to move.
My Walmart got another batch of Vintage Mer-man.
I guess, based on eBay, some Wun-dars and Evil-lyns are hitting US Walmarts.
Just not by me or the Walmart website.
@grayskullguardsman yea I saw Wundar and evil Lyn popping up in PA, NJ and CA but not by me in NY. 😢
I’m amazed (and relieved) they do show up in stores, but it sucks it’s not in every state…@grayskullguardsman yea I saw Wundar and evil Lyn popping up in PA, NJ and CA but not by me in NY. 😢
