A COMIC EVENT, NOT A SERIES? Community insider scoops on Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe TRILOGY continuation

Based on some low viewership numbers for Revolution, we always felt that the Kevin Smith showrun Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Revolution Netflix series realistically could only be continued as a comic book.

With ratings comparable to “Skull Island”, another fan beloved (but viewership challenged) Powerhouse Animation Studios cartoon series… “Skull Island” was a show that series creator Brian Duffield indicated did not earn enough viewers to financially justify another season and was instead continued as a comic. But when Kevin Smith said his part three, his She-Ra / Despara story would indeed be told at San Diego Comic-Con this past July, we assumed that Kevin found a way to excitingly get one more round of series animation greenlit by the studio (possibly as a secret sequel in the form of a She-Ra standalone series.)

But not so fast Revelation and Revolution fans. He-Mania.com community member @daimar, an insider that always seems to be in the know when he talks Masters of the Universe subject-matter, said the next installment of Kevin Smith’s He-Man trilogy will indeed be a “comic event” and not an animated series. Here is what he had to say:

“Notice that Kevin Smith never mentioned the word series? That’s because it isn’t. This will be a comic event.”

So will “Masters of the Universe: Redemption, Rebellion, Reunion” (or whatever the creators ultimately plan to call part three) be actually a comic series and not a show?

Now we wait for an official confirmation to find out.
