Delayed “HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: DRAGON PEARL OF DESTRUCTION” Video Game is coming to Gamescom next week! (Will a new release date finally be revealed?)
Gamescom is the world’s largest video game trade show, held in Cologne, Germany.
An annual event used to spotlight upcoming video games, hardware and more, Gamescom has announced that Mattel will have a presence at the show next week! Check out the announcement:
We’re excited to welcome @Mattel as an official partner of gamescom 2026! 💚🎮

And if you’re a true Masters of the Universe fan, don’t miss the cosplay takeover & live gameplay, with cosplayers taking over the Mattel stage:
📅 Friday, 1:30 PM
📅 Saturday, 3:30 PM
Which adventure are you jumping into first? 👀
First revealed in 2025, this new He-Man video game originally scheduled to be released on April 28, 2026 was followed by the disappointing announcement indicating that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction was delayed (because additional time for development was needed.)
“He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction” Project Lead Audi Sorlie recently told He-Mania.com that there was good news on the way (check out that article HERE). Is Gamescom the vehicle for that good news, in the form of a new release date announcement? We shall see.
Not familiar with “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction“? Be sure to check out our page dedicated to this anticipated game HERE!
He-Mania.com is the only website that has been reporting on this exciting game since the beginning!

I think one things for certain. No matter what this game will release before GTA6
because boy howdy have you seen the ongoig debacle of the whole game being leaked online just to screw over Rockstar for happily giving into Playstation’s “No more physical games" mantra? Honestly I’m rooting for the leaker (of who still hasn’t been found) if only to screw over a shitty billion dollar corporation.
Also I think this is important enough to inform but a LinkedIn profile announced that Mattel is finally making a game studio dedicated to making games based on their IP.
More MOTU games to come? Too early to say but very likely and hopefully it isn’t disposable mobile games. This franchise really needs to start catching up in the console game market.
And hopefully they don’t crash and burn as bad as Hasbro when they claimed that they’re really gonna get into gaming when all they have recently done of significance is commission a developer to make a Transformers live-service game over the course of years with even a Game Awards teaser AND four actually released figures based on a game people barely even saw the contents of by then. Turns out the developers somehow scammed Hasbro big time or something. Eh. Transformers Reactivate in my eyes didn’t look appealing, but at the very least I liked the Bumblebee figure they made for it. Screenshot-2026-08-21-at-10.32.59-AM.png
@slycooperastroboy51 Two words: F**K SONY
They are aiming to single-handedly uproot the entire video gaming industry and line their pockets and the pockets of their shareholders by cutting all the costs of physical media AND retailers out of the equation.
This sick act of corporate greed will destroy the secondary video game market (both online and in-store) and cause a market crash because nobody will actually own the ‘thing’ they are paying $60 – $80 USD for.
No longer will children rip open Christmas packages containing the video game they waited all year for… no longer will friends be able to lend games to one another or trade them in for new ones… no longer will people be able to sit down and play a game from two or more console generations ago because the servers have shut down.
There is no way on god’s green earth that I am going to pay 60+ dollars for the ‘opportunity’ to play a game that can be taken away at a moment’s notice. What if I want to play it 5 years from now? 10 years?
Hell, I still play my OG Turbo-Grafx 16 and NES. Y’know why? Because I actually own the software that the consoles use!
Sony can die a quick and painful death, bleeding money the entire time, wondering what went wrong and remembering their Betamax debacle from the early 80s…
Greedy pieces of sh*t….

Amen brother amen
Still play my PS5 but only the games I already have will not get anymore as I plan to get a Switch 2 soon.
NGL Spider-Man 2 was my main reason for getting one two years ago and it was worth it. Astro Bot was a great, cute unique platformer covering Playstation’s entire history (one letter away from a Tezuka Productions C&D). Played a bit of Ghost of Tsushima. Open world hyper realism games aren’t really my thing but I liked it. Mainly played that because it was from the same team behind the Sly Cooper games, of which I also got hooked on (I’m accepting there will never be a 5 and Sly will forever be stuck in Egypt). Most prized possession of mine is my PS5 copy of Sonic x Shadow Generations dual signed by Roger Craig Smith and Kirk Thorton.
Anyways, hoping the PS6 crashes and burns harder and faster than the Wii U. And at least for all it’s faults that console actually had amazing first party games to the point of when the Switch came out, Nintendo already had many best seller ports ready to go. The PS6 will have nothing.

The only Transformers video game I really liked was “Transformers: Devastation". And that was because it was made by one of my favorite video game studios.
@costume-n00b Devastation is the only Transformers game I’ve played aside from the TF Animated one on the DS as a kid that I gave away a long time ago (Animated best TF show). It was really fun.
I would definitely play War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, problem is that it isn’t playable on modern consoles because from 2007-2015 Hasbro had a publishing deal with Gaming Satan aka Activision. Activision is now a division of Microsoft and despite frequent rumors of remasters and Hasbro even making new figures based on games people can’t play unless you have a X360 or PS3 (yeah physical media, but it’s more convenient to play it on up to date consoles), those rereleases I don’t think are likely for the time being.
I heard September was going to be the month this releases… lots of speculation, however.
I really want this to finally release, but if it honestly needs more time in the oven, then I’m fine with waiting for it if it will be the best it can be. MOTU deserves that much.
Just tell em when it releases atp lol
It would be a missed opportunity if they don’t get it out by Christmas. How hard is it to finish an 8 bit game?
@dimestorekid 16-bit based game.
@slycooperastroboy51 Remember when 16-bit was impressive?
