Unfortunately we saw this coming.
Just yesterday we reported that the customers of Limited Run Games were experiencing widespread delays when it came to receiving their physical release pre-orders, with Limited Run Games admitting that some of their delivery dates were “too aggressive” and “overly optimistic”.

In that article we closed with a concern about the upcoming ‘Dragon Pearl of Destruction’ … stating that “the digital version of this new He-Man game will be available on April 28th…. at least we hope so.” Well those concerns seemed to be well founded.

Only a day later, Limited Run Games had announced “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction” will be delayed until the Summer.
A special notice to the Heroic Warriors of Eternia: We're nearing the end of development for He-Man and the Masters of the UniverseTM: Dragon Pearl of Destruction.
To ensure that this release will excite and challenge fans across all generations, additional time for development is needed.
We can assure you that you'll be venturing through Eternia in no time as He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and She-Ra in peak arcade glory!
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction will release digitally this summer on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series XIS, and PC.
Thank you for your continued patience as we take additional time to refine the game and deliver an experience worthy of fans. We look forward to welcoming players into Eternia as they join He-Man in defending the planet from Skeletor.

To many in the community, this news will come as a great disappointment. A great deal of fans were counting on this video game to carry their He-Man excitement straight through the movie’s release date of June 5th. (We definitely were.)
Now, it appears “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction” will be released after the new movie sometime in the Summer. Maybe.
We’ll see you next time.

On the upside, it’s coming out on Xbox One so I will be able to play it.
@froginsox Is that official? What about PS4?
According to the release above.
@froginsox Ugh, why?? I bought a Series S a month ago just to get this game
I’m not gonna lie the disappointment is there with the delay. I was really looking forward to this game. However, on that note my wallet is thanking me a bit. Some unexpected financial strain left me doubting if I could get this game right away.
I’m very sad about this, especially since there is no new release date set yet. I’ve been counting down the seconds until it’s release. After the broken G.I Joe beat-em-up a year or two ago that was never significantly updated except on Steam, I’m at least glad the developers are taking some more time to make sure it’s an enjoyable experience. Fingers crossed it’ll be released around the time of the movie.
I hope more playable characters are available down the road
