If you're not aware, a test screening is where a movie is previewed for a test audience before its release date to gauge an audience's reaction. Film studios then use these reactions to consider potential changes to improve their film. Well Daniel Richtman, a big movie scoop and news reporter in the industry, has just indicated the “Masters of the Universe” Movie Trailer had another recent test screening and he had the scoop on the audience's overall reaction. Here is what Daniel had to say today on X: DANIEL RICHTMAN: "Masters of the Universe had another test screening. This time…

I'm a tiny bit worried now with the mixed reactions. Hopefully it's just idiots hating on the film because they race swapped a few characters lol.

Tone is one thing but those images are so damn similar. Instead of having a Hulk, Adam has a Roboto.

Just ignore the haters. I do. Valkyrie had haters too because she was white in the comics but everyone knows Tessa Thompson was amazing as Valkyrie.

Different strokes for different folks. Daniel also reported on another test screening earlier in the week that was super positive. I think there's been like 5 or 6 now with the majority being crowd pleasers or being described as "great" or "amazing". You're not gonna pleaser everyone and I think in this case your mileage might vary on if the humor or jokes land.

Nah, definitely don't need a Marvel movie for MOTU. In more recent times that just means supposedly 'kooky' characters with weak dialogue facing a boring villain. The problem with starting out as Ragnarok or even going down that path means nothing has emotional impact afterwards because the tone is too jokey. You can't then pull that back and so it's what you get in a sequel. And we all know how that went.

The humour in a MOTU movie should be sprinkled in lightly at appropriate moments, not be a dedicated feature. The characters themselves are already OTT, you don't need goofiness.

It appears that we may, to some extent, be influenced by the collective unconscious.

Both Ragnarok and Love and Thunder had good emotional moments, and villains with interesting motivations. You should probably let go of your emotional baggage and rewatch them.

This is not surprising. Thor Ragnarok is an obvious comparison. People have been saying for years that Thor Ragnarok was already the next best thing to having a real He-Man film.

I honestly don’t want to go watch a Marvel movie that happens to have Skeletor in it.

I don't get you people. Marvel is popular with the world and the good movies are really good and Thor Rag is one of those good movies. We will be very lucky to get a MOTU movie that ranks with the best of what Marvel has put out.

hm... I don't care about test screenings so much. Some of the biggest cinma flop the two years very had good test screenings, some of the best movies had mixed reactions in test screening. So it is a 50/50 chance...

That's fair but I trust test screenings more than the early reactions on premier night. Those are always given with people wearing rose colored glasses.

Better to be compared to Ragnarok than Love and thunder. That movie was terrible. I also don’t don’t get all the hate. Eternia and Asgard are both similar being mythical and magical.

For the people disappointed, were you expecting Lord of the Rings?

Fans are never going to agree. At least the reaction was mostly positive.

What's wrong with Love and Thunder?

I think some were, I don't know why they would though.

@smitty-81 Gorr wasn’t as impactful as he should have been. Bale was great but feel like he was wasted. The biggest killer for me was the comedic tone. They went overboard with the humor

I see what you're saying about Gorr. I think having the whole thing told from Korg's perspective is why it's "funny" and I feel like some people miss that.

It's amazing how we are labeled "HATERS" just for wanting the characters to look like the characters. It's just so horrible isn't it? How do we sleep at night? Wanting Duncan to stay white is such a crime against humanity.

If we are "HATERS" for simply wanting the characters to stay true to the source material. What does that make everybody who loves the race & gender swapping? ASSHOLES? DIPSHITS? IDIOTS? I believe it's only fair that they get a colorful label as well. What goes around comes around.

I overlooked the crappy Transformers movies where none of the characters were even slightly recognizable. I overlooked the race swapping in Revelation & Revolution. I feel I have been very generous with this stupid nonsense. But here is where I draw the line. If that makes me a "HATER" then so be it. I'm sick of giving everybody an inch & then watch them take a mile while I get nothing in return.

When am I going to get a new MOTU movie where all the characters look right? Never! This was the 1 chance & only half the characters look right. And I can't say anything about it because all the dipshits automatically label me a "HATER".  WHATEVER! And you call yourselves MOTU fans? Maybe we should label you "FAKE FANS"? Or "SHILLS"? Or how about the "PIXEL DANS" with your noses stuck so far up Mattel's ass that anything goes?

Hasbro has the "HAS-BROS" and most of the fans hate them. What can we call the Mattel shills? They need a name too.
