I know this is completely early to be asking this question but do you think the Masters will show up as Meet and Greet characters at Universal?
I know for the Netflix She-Ra series, She-Ra was available to meet.
Also, back in the 80's they were around in Universal Studios Hollywood.
Ā
I didn't know if that was a "Netflix/Universal" thing or an actual "MotU/Universal" thing.
I do not think so. Mattel is opening its own theme park in Arizona.
Ā

So...are they going to recast Skeletor? I hope so - this is a great opportunity to get rid of that bum who never should have been cast in the first place.
COULD THIS BE MAN-AT-ARMS?
An atmospheric image of what appears to be a man at a work station, shared by "Masters of the Universe" Movie He-Man actor Nicholas Galitzine as they film in Wookey Hole and possibly Beer Quarry Caves.

If you haven't been keeping up with our MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie reports you have missed a lot!
(Filming for āMasters of the Universeā is currently underway with the movie scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide onĀ June 5th, 2026.)

Got to say AJ, you're doing a great job gathering all the news and updates on the film - thanks for making the progress so easy to follow!
(Though could you persuade them to film in Yorkshire rather than Somerset, so I can go and have a nosey in real life?)
With less than a year until the film's release, it's important to prepare for its premiere. I'm curious how much time they've allotted for the post-production of this movie.

This seriously made my day my friend! Awesome to hear, thanks, and very much appreciated! š

I couldn't get them to even film in the United States! š Though when this movie was with Netflix and they were ramping up to film in New Mexico, I had a friend on a crew and a way in. But as sad as that was to lose, I believe the current version of the movie is much better than what we would have received if it stayed with Netflix, so I am thankful it happened!

Could there be the possibility of last minute reshoots if general non-fan tests audiences donāt like certain aspects of the film like a lot of movies?
Interesting. Came across this while looking other cartoon, anime, and movie news

Speaking as a theme park geek myself
I donāt think that can stop them from appearing at Universal necessarily as far as we know. Nickelodeon has a few theme parks in malls around America yet still allow SpongeBob, Patrick and in Florida, a whole store and the iconic dabbing Squidward to meet. And even before that there was a kickass ride to 7-year old me at Universal Florida now infested with Minions by the name of Jimmy Neutronās Nicktoon Blast.
Ā
those Nick parks are in malls, way more smaller scale than the big two (Disney and Universal) and it seems the Mattel parks will be as well. They arenāt trying to be Disney or Universal because if they did, even with iconic IP, there would be no chance. They donāt have their types of budgets. Isnāt the only real MOTU attraction in those parks just gonna be a themed laser tag?
this scenario is unlikely but in the chance the movie is really successful, brings MOTU back into the mainstream public eye and becomes a film franchise, I would love Universal and Mattel to collaborate in build an immersive IRL Eternia land at their brand new Epic Universe park about on the scale of Star Wars Galaxyās Edge.

What type of crazy marketing stunts do y'all think Amazon MGM/Mattel will pull for the film?
And I mean crazy because there has been unique ones over the years for certain films.
So BLE seems to be the first big stop and public reveal for the film. Is there anyone here attending? Has anyone here attended one before and are the booths and whatnot allowed to be photographed?
Ā
Just curious on what, if anything, we could be seeing from this if you're not actually able to attend. The planner seems to reveal it's a 45 minute keynote on October 7th 1:30pm BST.
@slycooperastroboy51 What is an example of a movie studio doing a crazy marketing stunt?
@dgsimo BLE isn't open to the public. It's just for manufacturers or retailers. They allow some press but only for certain things.
@he-mayon Dang it. Since its free registration uhhh..who in London is going as the Eternia retailer representative...🤔😄
Ā
I'm just hoping something goes public that day!
@he-mayon Something like these maybe https://www.sixthcitymarketing.com/2025/07/30/movie-marketing-campaigns/
Ā
BTW what's BLE? Is that like some upcoming film convention/presentation thing?
@slycooperastroboy51 Brand Licensing Exhibition. AJ did a story where Amazon MGM and Mattel studios announced they're doing a keynote presentation about how they're reviving the Masters of the Universe as a global brand via the live action movie. They note in the press release its basically the first step into revealing the film to everyone, I think that's the best way to describe it, and how they'll be expanding MOTU into different brands.

They may show off a movie clip there. If so, I hope someone gives us descriptions.

Here's hoping!
Ā
I'm personally thinking it'll be a deeper look BTS than the CinemaCon stuff along with a look and reveal at the toys and figures while touching in thr video game, mobile game, Fornite collaboration and any other collab planned.
Ā
@dgsimo Remember when teaser trailers where actual teasers? As in barely or not at all show footage from the movie but rather would just give moviegoers a feel of both the tone and maybe the characters in a span of two minutes?Ā
It would intrigue you more to know about the upcoming film without saying too much. Kinda wish those would make a comeback but now film youtubers always need more trailers to analyze every single split second of. Some of the best examples from the era include:
- Back to the Future just had Marty getting into the Delorean and it shows all the internals of the machine turning on
- Transformers '07 shows footage from a NASA rover on Mars exploring before being crushed by a silhouetted Decepticon (the comic prequel would state it's Starscream but it honestly doesn't look like him)
- Early Pixar were the absolute kings at this with Monsters Inc., The Incredibles and Cars
- The first Raimi Spider-Man film would've had the coolest with the way it's set up and framed......which is real unfortunate that it was quickly pulled from theaters due to a notable nationwide tragedy. Honestly what sells it is Spidey swinging at the end to "Leave you far behind" by Lunatic Calm. Real early 2000s swag.
Ain't gonna happen but this franchise feels perfect for those type of film teaser trailers from a bygone era.

Fully agree. You'd only have to put Skeletor's laugh over the title card and say nothing else.Ā
Ā
@admin Ah! It's going to be difficult for me to picture this actor any other way. It's definitely set in stone at this point (lol).
@slycooperastroboy51 Absolutely. One of my favorite teasers is the Terminator 2: Judgement Day one, watching the Terminator be made.
Ā
To Mattel's credit though, and Warner Bros too, the Barbie teaser was well done. It established how important the doll was to the world along with setting the tone and feel of the film while giving us a quick cut of some scenes. I'd be happy with something similar for MOTU.
Ā
In regards and context talking about BLE though, the presentation they're doing is more about how the film is, hopefully, going to reinvigorate and revitalize the brand globally starting from script to screen and how they'll expand that. Exciting stuff but again I'm just wondering what slither of details we'll get for not attending. lol
Ā
It's the big thing I'm looking forward to despite not going anyway and from there I think Empire Magazine might have some official stills in November and then a teaser trailer in December either with Avatar 3 or at CCXP.Ā
