This is one of my favorite episodes of the series. I’ve always had core childhood memories of this one, specifically He-Man swimming down in the poisoned lake to save Cringer, and him being transported in the bed with the red blanket. Before my first rewatch I always thought they crashed into the ocean given how vast and deep the water is when they’re doing it, more testament to Filmation for scaling stuff like this in an exciting way.

I particularly love how they’re able to showcase how evil and scary Skeletor can be in this one - discussing his slaves and destroying a village, even scarier is how we have to leave much of that to the imagination. Plus we get some of his best lines including “I could write a book about what you don’t know” and “Well it’s dark and dismal (Snake Mountain).

Finally, I love that Adam/He-Man and Cringer are the only two heroes in this one (non guest star), I really wish we got more of these but the can’t complain because we ultimately got 3 with this, Evil-Lyn’s Plot (with a brief Sorceress cameo) and A Tale of Two Cities.

Episode 99, 31 more people!

This is one of those episodes that's fine as it is, but has an interesting premise that could've been executed better.

I think this story would've been more interesting if Orko was in place of Cringer.

I love Orko, but mainly when he's the cute side character, episodes heavily focusing around him are 6/10 at best for me, but imagine him in this episode not being the screw up as usual, but the one trying to convince Drak that Skeletor is a bad dude.

Orko may be mischievous and clumsy, but he knows for a definitive fact that Skel is a REALLY bad dude. It would've been refreshing for him to be the one to subtly give the moral rather than learn it.

Love how this show's Skeletor's first real fanboy and he seemingly doesn't take it too well. As they say "Never meet your heroes" or at least whom you perceive as ones.

There's a moment where Drak and Cringer are caught in a net by Skeletor and the way Cringer is on his hind legs looks weird. idk felt like pointing it out.

@slycooperastroboy51 The one thing I don't understand how any boy can worship Skeletor and we have had two recent episodes where both boys thought going to him was a good idea. Even Skeletor's looks are scary.

I agree. It's always more scary when the only thing you see is the scary scene he left behind.

3 stars. The bridge scene makes no sense (what exactly did cringe do?) But the burning village is great. Overall enjoyable episode l.
