I'm very nostalgic with this episode, this is one I have very specific memories of watching on TV - I think in part because the villains colorful and memorable, and really fit in well with the MOTU landscape (lots of variety). I also appreciate episodes like this where Adam and Cringer show off their strengths, and where it shows how sometimes He-Man and Battlecat make things too easy (like straight up ripping the pirate ship down from the sky).

I do wish we got a few instances of Adam using his sword without losing it - every time you see it come out you know it's about to be taken away from him.

Finally, just a random comment - I love the transformation shot of Adam in front of Colossor's chair, something about it just looks epic to me.

Meh. I rather listen to Sticky Fingaz rap. This was for the birds.

Couldn't help but notice that some of the civilians look the same, or at least very similar as certain previously one-off characters, like one of the guys who was after Starchild. I know they're not meant to be said characters, but more or less animation models Filmation just felt like filling crowd scenes with. Sticky Fingers I don't know if it was intentional like he's a modified animation model, but he looks like that Sultan/Genie guy Evil-Lyn once worked with?

Wow, we're already 90 episodes in!?

Off topic but Sticky was pretty good in the Blade tv show.

4 stars - nearly 5. The space pirates are probably the best of the filmation created villans - rather than another d&d wizard they look like motu figures and have creative designs and powers. The plot is great, wonderful lesson, moves at a clip and everyone is clever. Love it.
