My mother had both her knees replaced. As a retired nurse, she knew exactly what could go wrong. She was nervous about the whole thing. Yeah, I have an idea of what you're going through. It is definitely not fun.

Thanks longtooth and costume.

With over 850,000 partial knee replacement surgeries performed int the U.S. each year (!), it's surely one of the most common operations around. That said, the reality is that half of the surgeons in the world graduated in the bottom half of their class.  This is why I do deep research on any physician I am involved with.  I'm fortunate to have a top tier cardiologist, neurologist and cardiovascular surgeon on my medical team. They are all highly protective of my health and well being, giving me their personal cellphone numbers with an assurance they are always there for me, literally 24/7. (Helps that they're Care Bears fans, I suppose. 😉 )  When I researched for a knee replacement surgeon I did deep research and got a surgeon with other 4,000 five star reviews. The results have been nothing short of astounding -- verified by my incredible PT team.

As a former USAF search-and-rescue medic, I have a great deal of medical knowledge and have kept up with things by actively using mayoclinic.com and Clevelandclinic.com.  Doesn't hurt that Kim and I are close friends with a wonderful couple who are both highly respected and credentialed cardiovascular surgeons.

One gets what one puts into it.  The price of one's health -- and the health of one's family -- is eternal vigilance and a willingness to do the hard work of deep research. In this I do what needs to be done and more.   🙂

Again, my sincere appreciate for your concern and kind words.  🙂
