I am sorry for Miin, but I am glad Luke & Jack both get to cook another day! They are both talented young lads.
 
 
Tuesday night is the Relay Challenge and lovely Justine Schofield has an Immunity Pin Challenge on Wednesday.

Tonight on MasterChef was the dreaded Relay Challenge, our remaining 16 contestants were divided into teams of 4 with coloured aprons. A team leader was chosen for each team, and then one of the team members was brought in to take over and so on until the final contestant in each team finished the dish.
 
The teams were told that Greek Yoghurt was supposed to be the star ingredient of each dish.
 
The teams in order of member appearance and their dish are:
 
 
Team Purple (Jack, Hannah, Vinnie & Casper) - Herb Crusted Lamb, Yoghurt Black Garlic Sauce, Hasselback Potatoes & Honey Cumin Glazed Carrots
 
*This was the only team who had no flaws in their dish and maintained excellent communication throughout.

Team Blue (Alyona, Olaolu, Luke & Lydia) - Calamari, Flatbread, Greek Salad, & Yoghurt Tzatziki Sauce
 
*This was originally going to be a chicken dish, but neither Alyona nor Olaolu seasoned the chicken very well and it was very dry, so Luke changed direction on his own accord and turned it into a seafood dish, which Lydia finished. It turns out calamari was not such a good idea as the sauce completely overpowered the seafood which was distinctly lacking in flavour as a result leaving the dish unbalanced.

Team Red (Petro, Emily, Annabel & Pat) - Pork Skewers, Yoghurt Sauce, Yoghurt Flatbread, Herb Salad & Pickled Onions. 
 
*The dish failed largely due to Petro's mistake in accidentally telling Emily to use plain flour in the flatbread instead of self-raising flour, and her doing so. The pork was dry and the tahini affected the tzatziki in a negative way.

Team Green (Dot, Jackie, Aaron & Grace) - Upside Down Honey Thyme Orange & Pear Tart & Greek Yoghurt Ice Cream. 
 
*Oh where to start...this dish was going to originally be a galette, but Dot said tarte tatin by mistake, and then she forgot to explain to Jackie that the pastry she made was short-crust and not puff pastry, which led Jackie to kneading the pastry to the point where it lost all sense of pliability and texture. The pastry was completely raw in the end and although the caramelised fruit and ice cream were delicious, the pastry screw-up ruined any chance this might have had.

It's a shame the dessert failed, as it was the only dish I would have wanted to eat!
 
The winning team were - obviously - the members of Team Purple and this means that Jack, Hannah, Vinnie & Casper will be competing in tomorrow night's Immunity Pin Challenge set by the fabulous Justine Schofield. 
 
Apparently, the judges (Andy, Poh, Sofia & Jean-Christophe) will be tasting the dishes without knowing who cooked which dish. Only Justine will know as she is taking over as host tomorrow.
