These 6 contestants will join Alyona to have a chance to play for an Immunity Pin tomorrow night which will get the winner out of trouble in a future Elimination Challenge.
 
 
So to recap - Alyona, along with Aaron, Annabel, Hannah, Jackie, Lydia & Miin will have this opportunity tomorrow to play for the Immunity Pin offered by guest chef Khanh Ong.

Tonight on MasterChef, Khanh Ong joined the judges to set a Sandwich Challenge. The six winning contestants from last night (Aaron, Annabel, Hannah, Jackie, Lydia & Miin) plus Alyona had to create an epic sandwich in order to win the Immunity Pin on offer. This time they were allowed to use pre-made bread from the pantry.

Everyone performed well tonight, but the Immunity Pin was won by Jackie who now has a safety net in the future if she needs it. I was a bit dubious about her chances earlier on in the season, but she has proven my judgement wrong I'm happy to say. Well Done Jackie!

Tonight on MasterChef, our esteemed judges were joined by British culinary sensation Rick Stein. The contestants were given a Mystery Box with a range of ingredients and they were given a generous choice of 100 or so spices they could choose from. The pantry and garden were closed, but they had the under the bench staples.
 
The four best dishes would win Immunity from tomorrow night's Global Food Elimination.
 
 
The four contestants who are safe are Alyona, Casper, Grace & Miin.

Tonight on MasterChef the contestants had to choose one of five countries cuisines to prepare a dish using a special ingredient notably used in that cuisine provided by the judges.
 
Alyona, Casper, Grace & Miin had won Immunity last night so they did not compete tonight.
 
The countries chosen by the rest of the contestants and their featured ingredient are as follows:
 
 
Vietnamese (Lemongrass) - Aaron & Lucy
 
Mexican (Corn) - Annabel, Hannah, Kanika, Luke & Olaolu
 
Lebanese (Eggplant) - Lydia & Petro
 
Italian (Tomato) - Dot, Jack, Pat & Vinnie
 
Japanese (Miso) - Emily & Jackie
 
 
The four best dishes were created by Annabel, Emily, Lydia & Pat.

Pat made Cavolo Nero & Ricotta Tortellini, Tomato Water & Basil Oil. He especially astounded the judges with the clarity of his tomato consomme.

Three dishes had major flaws so the Bottom 3 were: Jackie, Kanika & Olaolu.
 
 
Jackie chose not to play her Immunity Pin which was a grave mistake since her Miso Pumpkin Cake was unbalanced in flavour and the miso and pumpkin competed wildly with each other for flavour.
 
Kanika let time get away from her and she did not get to make and cook her corn tortilla and she only served up prawns with a couple of corn dishes which were too much alike and distinctly lacking in some much necessary heat and spice. She did not use chipotle spice to good effect and she may as well have left it out altogether for all the good it did for her dish.
 
Olaolu made Beef & Corn Quesadillas, but he also did not use Mexican spices to good advantage. His corn was also overcooked and chewy.
