Five contestants had flaws - Dot's marshmallow was far too thick and sticky, Lucy's caramel was too sweet, Vinnie's ice cream was too icy, Petro had forgotten to turn his oven on and only got his clafoutis partially cooked in the last half hour before judging when he remembered, and Pat had far too many elements with conflicting flavours that did not sit well with the judges.

The Top 2 were Jack & Grace, but only one Immunity spot was being offered and it was won by Grace who will be sitting out tomorrow night in safety from the Elimination tomorrow night while everyone else has to cook their buns off for guest Victoria Minell.

Tonight on MasterChef, guest Victoria Minell joined regular judges Andy, Sofia, Poh & Jean Christophe as she brought in five special ingredients (Cucumber, Burrata, Pistachio, Rice Paper & Gochujang) for the contestants (except for Grace who won Immunity last night). They then had to build a dish based on one of these ingredients in tonight's Elimination Challenge.

The best dish of the evening was made by Alyona (Avocado & Sour Cream Ice Cream, Pistachio Crumb & Sour Cherry Coulis).

As for Alyona, she will go straight through to the Immunity Pin Challenge on Wednesday following tomorrow night's Service Challenge. Time to bring out the coloured aprons again! I think this means Alyona won't need to compete tomorrow night. It also means she has to compete for Immunity, she doesn't automatically have it yet. The winning team will have a chance to play for the pin, where the creator of the best dish will join Grace in Immunity from next week's Elimination.

There were also some clunkers tonight including those made by Vinnie & Alita.
 
Vinnie made a Pulled Pork & Gochujang Sandwich, and while he initially made his own Focaccia, he made it too thick and it wouldn't cook properly so he substituted an already made one from the pantry. The judges admonished him for not making his own bread given the generous time they were all given. His sauce was flavour packed but looked a mess.

Alita made Burrata Lasagna Dumplings, but she had so much going on, the dumplings pretty much dissolved in the sauce and the cream and cheese sauce was split. The lasagna had the consistency of wet meatloaf, the judges.

Sadly, despite Vinnie's cheat dish, it was Alita who made the least impressive dish according to the judges, so she was Eliminated. Bye Alita!
 
 
Personally, I thought Vinnie should have gone home instead for obvious reasons.

To recap, so far we have said farewell to Megs, Belinda, Bella, Alita & Jeff.
 
We now have 19 contestants left from the original 24.
 
There will be 16 more Eliminations before we discover the Top 3.
 
One person will go home with an instant 3RD Prize and then the remaining two will battle it out for 1ST & 2ND Prize in the finale.
 
Tonight is the first Service Challenge where the contestants will be grouped by coloured apron to prepare a feast for the judges and special guest diners, the winning team will play for an Immunity Pin tomorrow night where if they get in trouble during a future challenge, they can cash in the pin to save themselves during an Elimination. 
 
Grace has already had her Immunity (not a pin) so she will be expected to compete for the rest of this week, although Alyona will automatically be given a chance to play for the pin since she won best dish last night, so I'm assuming she will not play tonight.

Tonight on MasterChef was the very first Team Service Challenge where the regular judges were joined by special guest Lily Huynh and over 100 guest diners.

Alyona who won Immunity the other night, didn't need to compete tonight.
 
The teams had to make one Pop-Up Snack dish each where every element had to be cohesive.
 
The contestants (and their team dish) were divided by coloured apron into 6 teams of 3:
