Alita who made Cachanga (Peruvian Flatbread), Cherry Tomatoes, Tahini Yoghurt & Chorizo Nduja Compound Butter & Pickled Salad.

 

 
Therefore Aaron, Alita, Dot & Kanika are safe from Monday night's Reinventing Carbs Elimination Challenge. The contestants have to choose one of the judges' kitchen hacks to base their dish on.
 
Tuesday night is a Team Challenge where presumably the best team will win Immunity from Wednesday's Family Tradition Elimination Challenge.

Tonight on MasterChef, the contestants (with the exception of Aaron, Alita, Dot & Kanika who won Immunity last night) had to choose a Quick Carb Hack demonstrated by one of the judges - Andy's flatbread, Poh's noodles, Sofia's potato latkes or Jean-Christophe's rice).

 
They then had only 36 minutes to make a dish expanding on one of these base ingredients. The least impressive dish would send its maker home.
 
 
The three best dishes were made by Petro, Annabel & Lucy.

The Bottom 3 dishes were made by Olaolu, Belinda & Vinnie.
 
Vinnie made Lamb Cutlets & Smoked Cheddar Flatbread, but both elements of the dish were undercooked. Olaolu made Lamb Koftas, Flatbread & Tzatziki, but he spent so much time on the flatbread, his lamb was underdone. Belinda made a deconstructed Flatbread Smashed Burger, Pickles & Burger Sauce, but not only was her dish too simple, it was also underdone and rather lacking in flavour.
 
In the end it was Belinda whose dish was deemed the least successful so she was Eliminated. Bye Belinda!
 
Tomorrow night, we have the first Team Challenge (thankfully not the dreaded relay yet).

Tonight on MasterChef, the remaining contestants were divided by coloured apron into 7 teams of 3 where they had to create two main dishes, three side dishes and a dessert.

 
The teams were:
 
 
Team Turquoise (Alita, Dot & Miin)
 
Team Red (Jackie, Petro & Vinnie)
 
Team Orange (Annabel, Jack & Kanika)
 
Team Brown (Casper, Grace & Luke)
 
Team Navy Blue (Alyona, Bella & Hannah)
 
Team Pink (Lydia, Olaolu & Pat)
 
Team Purple (Aaron, Emily & Lucy)

Two teams created an epic round of dishes - Team Turquoise & Team Purple.
 
 
Team Turquoise made: Spiced Steak, Cauliflower Salad, Lemon Garlic Chicken, Baba Ghanoush, Yoghurt Tahini Sauce, Middle East Rice Pilaf, Chocolate Pistachio Pavlova.

The two teams who made the least impressive round of courses will face off in an Elimination Challenge tomorrow night.They were Team Pink & Team Navy Blue.
 
Team Pink's chicken was undercooked and their dishes lacked overall seasoning and zest, while Team Navy Blue's garlic aioli was too overpowering and ruined what could have been a successful set of dishes.
 
Therefore, Alyona, Bella & Hannah and Lydia, Olaolu & Pat are vulnerable for possible Elimination tomorrow.

Tonight on MasterChef was an Elimination Challenge where 6 contestants had to make a dish that symbolised their family traditions.


 
There were four successes:
 
 
Lydia made Avgolemono Halloumi Soup & Chicken Rice Balls. The judges loved it so much they slurped the bowls clean!

Unfortunately there were two disasters.
 
 
Hannah made Sticky Date Pudding, Ginger Ice Cream & Orange Butterscotch Sauce. It sounded delicious and while the judges loved the ice cream, the cake was too simple and didn't look very sophisticated. Also, the sauce had the consistency of burnt marmalade instead of the caramelly sauce she was aiming for. One of the judges - Sofia - even said the sauce was unpleasant.

Bella made Apple Cinnamon Entremet, Shortbread, Cinnamon Apples, Apple Jelly & Mirror Glaze. Unfortunately, the cake was so gluggy and dense it stuck to the mould and came out a right mess. Every element was flawed, and although the dessert sounded delicious, it was also visually unappealing.
 
 
In the end, it was poor Bella whose dish had the most faults so she was Eliminated. Bye Bella!
 
Sadly, no more MasterChef until Sunday, but next week looks absolutely epic!

Tonight on MasterChef, guest judge Catherine Zhang brought in her Viral Fruit Desserts which looked very much like real fruit on the surface but had all sorts of goodies inside. Some were cakes and some were ice creams.

The contestants were told they did not need to recreate one of these dishes, but they did need to produce their own take on a Viral Fruit Dessert. Only 10 out of 20 dishes were being tasted and from then on, only one contestant would win Immunity from Monday's Elimination.
 
The 10 contestants whose creations were tasted were:
 
Emily - "Little Coconut Dude" featuring aChocolate Coconut Shell, Coconut Chantilly Mango & Passionfruit Puree & Pandan Sand
