Got my Blast-Attack and I’m really happy with how he turned out. The first time I “exploded” him, I let out a loud “aaahaha”.
I love how vibrant he is, especially the shiny gold. I have no comparison, he’s my first BA. But for once, I’m really pleased with Mattel’s gold plastic, for him it really works IMO. I’m actually considering getting a second one to leave MOC, for once.
Is he more shiny than vintage?
Was pretty entertained with the mini-comic as well, and enjoyed the packaging illos.
Not a bad idea, really - I mean to sprinkle in the occasional re-release. Whether I would have chosen that He-man, well...

Yeah, vintage was the obvious choice. I'm hoping they dust off SDCC stuff and MV New Adventures He-Man.
Fans of the Origins line can breathe a sigh of relief. It has been confirmed that the line has not been discontinued, except for the crossovers (Transformers/MOTU, Thundercats/MOTU, etc.), which have been put "on pause," according to Mattel.
Multi-bots were delivered today. Forgot all about them.
Well, good news that Origins isn't dead. Although, to be fair, the line has so many branches now, I am not even sure what that means for my collecting. I think the 200X figures fall under Origins too? And that line more or less just started, so of course they will keep it going a little longer. But I am pretty sure Mattel doesn't have any ambition to do much more with the vintage line 🙁
My two biggest hopes for Origins are:
-Continue the MOTU x TC crossover line
-Make New Adventures the next CC offerings (similar to 200X)
I also imagine that Mattel is still looking to partner with other companies for new crossover lines. G.I. Joe just got swept up by Playmates of all people to make TMNT x Joe toys!
Maybe the MOTU x DCU will actually come to fruition..?

Apart from the odd Cretins release I imagine 200x is over when they show the final few figures we got the prototypes for at SDCC. They've never shown that many figures together for one line! And it'd be a hell of a thing to try and restart it at retail after the movie (plus it really looks like it bombed tbh, even the Cartoon Collection seems to have flopped a few waves in).
At retail anything that can fall under Origins (NA is a risk, let's be honest) and crossovers is about all that's left. They seem to be hinging the brand's entire exposure at retail on the movie. Which is fucking dumb.
I want more Filmation CC.
I suspect 200x has a wave or two coming.
200x Roboto was shown, and Orko, Teela, and Mer-man rumored.
The Slime Pit was also rumored to be released this year.
And a faction 4 pack… Avion, Beast Man type warrior, Mer-Man type warrior, and a Skeleton Warrior.
Plus that Gray figure that was spotted in an official Mattel video. (He-ro alter ego)
Pretty sure we’ll get another few Powers of Grayskull, if they continue the membership – we’re still missing Eldor, plus the aforementioned Dare.
I’m hoping for more vintage style releases through Creations this year, but even those could be taking a break till the fall 😬
A bit more 200X is a given since they did show Roboto. Multipack possibility again, but yeah, TCats likely dead… 😢 There might be some random things (like the royal couple last year)
I do think there must be something in it for them, to start so many new things. I wonder if it’s a bit like comic books– restarting a series is a tired gimmick but it still works to improve sales for a while. Maybe the really strong brands like StarW and GIJ don’t need it…?

I would love more Filmation figures but I need very little 200x. I just don't think either have the sales numbers though, not from what I'm seeing here and in Europe. They're on discount before they even ship!
This is why Vintage Origins is being dragged out, it's the only thing that's truly worked. If Mattel could have distributed worth a damn initially it would still be at retail with the cartoon collection in all it's forms waiting in the wings. The whole thing should have been treated like Marvel Legends. My god, Playmates had the sense to mix up completely different eras and collections of TMNT alongside the originals.

Both G.I. Joe Classified and Star Wars Black Series have been golden geese for Hasbro because they stayed the course. Meaning, Classified did the right thing by giving fans a ton of nostalgic vintage characters with a few "reimagined" ones peppered in. Even when a new movie came out, e.g. Snake Eyes, Hasbro just incorporated the movie figures into the existing Classified brand.
And, Star Wars TBS has done right by fans as well. That line includes characters from the movies, comics, video games, RPG, novels, streaming shows, and cartoons! All the same scale, all the same line.
That is why I'm so confused by Mattel's choice in NOT just incorporating MOTU 2026 into their existing Masterverse line. It already had the 87 movie characters, vintage, New Eternia, New Adventures, Anti-Eternia, New Etheria, PoP, Revelation, and Revolution... why the hell didn't Mattel just add the new movie figures?!?!?

@depp76 A much more reliable option than Walmart.
@ornclown I also would have loved that. I’m just saying, restarting might have some short term benefit.
I do see people on other forums (TNI) that say they have not considered MOTU in a while but now that they are in scale with their Classified etc, they will check it out. As you say, there are a lot of BS fans, Classified, Marvel Legends,…
Maybe Mattel still see themselves in the phase of brand (re-)introduction, before they can pull off something like Black Series etc
Just playing devil’s advocate and sorry if I’m making people’s blood boil 😅 I’m just trying to understand Mattel.
In all seriousness though, Origins (vintage) is becoming something of a Classified etc. I just have some worries Red Shadow would be selling well at retail (right now).
The Mattel Creations website has confirmed that Stonedar will be the next Motu Origins offering planned for February 24. https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxGWwsRX-VNnMG_X6nHfAh7ZO0gGFi4_Jb

Can we please expand the Rock People faction? 2 characters (3 if we include Granita) is not much of a faction, and since Mattel was more than happy to expand the Snake Men well beyond vintage's meagre 5 figure offering, I see no reason why others shouldn't get the same treatment.

Meteorbs for everyone!
Seriously though, I'll take all the space boulders we can get.
@sketchyskeletor Me too, although I draw a hard line at the Meteorbs.

Dude. Mattel needs to give us two bad and finish the line and then we can talk about more new characters. 🤣
@kraken No, that risks too many people checking out. Though they have done three VC characters in a row now and with how few are left they could finish the vintage characters by the end of the year. But they can't do the last two Lost Wave figures this year IF they do the giants, also we're probably getting Eldor, so...

I would unironically love some Meteorbs.
