Correct me if I'm wrong but is she the only major (well, major is stretching it. 4 episodes, only half with speaking roles. She was in the OG toyline I think.) Filmation Horde member besides Scorpia, who we know is coming, who hasn't been at least hinted at getting a figure?
Dare I say she's within my some of my MOTU characters in general alongside Hordak, Skeletor and Orko. Still consuming more content. I feel like as a newer fan it's hard for me to choose favorites.
She's my fav in She-Ra 2018 and if we're not getting figures from that series, CC Filmation is the next best option for me. I know there's a Classics figure, but I don't collect Classics. I would actually just get her figure if it weren't for the ebay aftermarket prices.
Was happy to learn that in one of the two Filmation episode she's prominent in, she spends all of her time with Hord, even if there aren't any hints of romantic attraction there.
I love her relationship with Hordak and how it isn't the typical "Nice girl convinces bad guy to become good" trope, no, Hordak comes to his own conclusion from his time with her. Favorite couple.
Honestly if it were up to me if I was a MOTU brand manager (impossible but hypothetical scenario), I would attempt to convince Mattel to finally purchase and get the animation She-Ra rights back from Universal/Dreamworks (What else are they gonna do with them now that SR2018 is over?) and next MOTU series, she's by Hordak's side as the Harley Quinn to his Joker with a split personality of energetic, sweet and quirky and conniving and villainous.

@slycooperastroboy51 they said they weren't done with Filmation or She-Ra in the Origins line so there still hope. I want her too and she was the only villain beside Catra in the vintage PoP line. Her and Glimmer are sorely missed in the CC line.

Somebody has started a petition for Mattel to rethink the Snake Lair (tbf they really should)
Check your emails. I just got a second notice from Target about the He-Man/Skeletor retro set date changing, but this time I actually had to approve it. This is where they could possibly cancel your order if you don't physically approve it.
I forgot i had 2 of this set and 2 syklones on preorder, then seen people getting a syklone in stores. Then I remembered i ordered them, checked target account, ordered in April, they canceled in May.
syklone shows on their site, but can order to ship, or pick up, or delivery. Even though they show stores have them. I got 2 last friday at a store. The heman/skeletor set doent even come up anymore, guess ill wait when they hit stores and clearance.
i know everyone bitches about walmart, but i have received everything i have ordered from them, unlike hipster target.

It's already pretty unprecedented for them to do a poll (even if it was rigged, which I now think it was), declare a winner, reveal the prototype, then cave into public outcry and back out of their plans in order to spend more time and money rethinking it...and then come back, a full year later, with a version more in line with expectations but no less outrageous in price.
I mean...there is such a thing as professional pride.
I'm guessing that rather than let the crowdfunding tank and kill the playset for a second time, Mattel will step in (if necessary) and goose up the numbers a bit just to get this thing made at the most basic tier to save face. To fail again at this point would be beyond embarrassing, given the months and months and months spent planning it (however misguided those were).
Sadly for the fans who were interested in the other offerings in that poll, I'm guessing this controversy is going to be the nail in the coffin for those as well.

When I say rethink it I mean what's being offered for the cost. They either drastically reduce the price or plus it up to high heaven with all the tiers unlocked AND extras. Nobody cares about Lady Slither for one thing, they likely already own one. So there's something that needs addressed. They need to start with something as good as the Rattle Trap to even begin to turn the narrative around.
If anything, they’ll add the other tiers / extra into the basic tier of the Snake Lair, including bony Lady Slither.
I don’t think they’ll reduce the price, nor add unexpected things.
There are quite a lot comments that say, if the Priest and horse were added into that price, they’d back it. They might go that route… if it doesn’t look like it funds.
@disneyboy A huge corporation is not going to goose up the numbers and take a haircut for emotional reasons if it falls short of the minimum backers. There's a specific calculus at play, and if the math doesn't math, it won't get made, pure and simple. Mattel's pride won't be hurt in that scenario - they'll just blame the fans for the failure and move on.
Maybe the Snake Lair should fail for a second time. Maybe that would send them the message that we won't just blindly buy anything and everything they throw at us. This is my take, I know quite a few diehards outside of this place who have quit or are thinking about it. Certainly every one of them has walked away from Masterverse and aren't touching the crossovers.
Re. Snake Lair. Either they give people value or it deservedly dies on it's ass. Those tiers on their own don't equate to like 200 bucks BEFORE shipping.
When you need a payment plan for a standard clamshell set your arrogance is on full display.

I actually kind of like the new Snake Lair - it's got a good dose of that vintage MOTU flair about it (even if it's basically a generic Castle Grayskull wearing a snakeskin suit), but it simply isn't worth 300 bucks (well over 500 shipped to Canada) - not even with the tiers included. If it were about 150 USD I'd go for it. But I have no intention of rewarding their shameful greed and manipulation, especially not this late in the line, and especially not since they didn't show reveals at SDCC that I, and I'm sure many others, wanted to see.
Their increasingly scattershot and unfocused MOTU offerings are not only discouraging to me as a lifelong fan, but I'd go as far as to say it's bordering on mismanagement at this point. It's driving completists like myself away from the property for the first time.
@durendal If the current iteration was the retail release it should be I'd order it in a heartbeat (I just ordered MT Grayskull), instead they're trying to pretend some hasty ideas are tiers lol, while charging 300 for approximately a third less of the previous offering and absolutely no chance of the tiers happening.
There's just zero focus AND a belief customers will accept whatever. It's not working for them or us lol. Masterverse barely appears on shelves. Filmation has pretty much had it's time. The crossovers are divisive and don't seem to sell so great after the first two waves. Vintage is just whenever they need an exclusive. It could and should be a billion dollar brand - look at how far MASK has gone already with a former relative flop. Or Jada killing it with multiple licences they don't even own. Mattel is the second largest toy company in the world but it behaves like it's Funko!

Yup, they changed things up during Eternia's and it didn't have half the problems this one has, should be entertaining!
@durendal the pricing on this isn't because of greed.It's because of the MOQ. The minimum amount of these that they will make is six thousand and to make just six thousand of any toy, is actually gonna drive the cost up. We see the same thing with exclusives, all the time. Lower production numbers mean higher production costs for the company and they don't eat that cost, they pass it on to us.

Though I am curious how many fools can be swayed by the Chimera lol.
That Chimera is awesome so I welcome the higher possibility that it gets made.
There were quite a lot of comments that did say, if we get all the tiers / extra figs, we will (begrudgingly) back it.
While this new development is short of that, I think it’ll make a difference.
Mattel is prob looking at Haslab and sees about half of those get made, at an even higher price point. A trend they want to get in on.
It is very true that a playset that gets produced in a much smaller production run is more expensive per unit. SL is also more involved with different screwed in elements and paint apps. Not that anyone asked for that …
For many of us it’s simply the money, no matter what they offer– I can’t justify spending so much $$$. I do feel kinda excluded, from a toyline that was supposed to be affordable.
But what the heck, I don’t really have the space. Getting FZ is already idiotic for me lol

I think the inclusion of the Snorse is a good call. Making the meh figure the early bird insensitive give people that need to allocate the funds a chance to do that without missing anything "good" then the more interesting figure is at a lower tier so there a better chance of getting him.

The issue for Mattel is they've mismanaged MOTU so badly that it doesn't have the support GI Joe or Transformers does. And certainly not at the prices Mattel have been charging before shipping is factored in. Super 7 could fit in Mattel's pocket and have taken orders of magnitude bigger risks than Mattel with crowdfunds AND provided them to retailers. People need to stop making excuses for Mattel, they aren't remotely justified.
As you say, it'll truly come down to cost.
Toy Habits says 200X will now become the focus of cartoon collection. Hardly a surprise and especially not with how many 200x figures they showed, but yeah, watch the rest of Filmation become exclusives, probably.
