If there are no Masterverse or Origins figures at Toy Fair, we riot!!! 😂
@grayskullguardsman Yeah... Get ready for a pair of Vintage Collection figures at most (lol). I'm not sure how likely it is that any other subline will be exhibited, since, from now on, they are clearly going to be offered as "special releases" by Mattel Creations. Does that mean they're going to capitalize on the surprise factor with these?

I guess it's time to riot! The only things I'm seeing that are worth a damn (IMO) are the new Sectaurs with Skulk & Trancula being revealed.
I'm assuming Mattel are showing stuff on Sunday?
@sketchyskeletor Mattel just announced the first one figures on Instagram and Facebook. I can't conceive of a situation where Mattel leaves the fair without showing them off first.

I'm more interested in whatever we have left from the current lines tbh! The messing around with scale relative to what we have means I'm likely completely out with any movie stuff!
@sketchyskeletor Mattel might be better off saving the old niche lines for the revealed show in March.

True, but it'll be nice if they throw their existing customers a bone like every other company is doing. Then they could show things like Filmation He-Man or PoP if they have them at the reveal. Or even NA. Basically, there's way too much left unfinished! Even Playmates outright stated what was there for TMNT is the last of it, Mattel just tend to leave you wondering.
If Masterverse is truly over, there is 1 thing that will forever blow my mind. Beast-Man & Blade were actually made from the 87 movie but not Man-At-Arms or Teela. Mattel had a chance to shove another Man-At-Arms down our throats but went with Beast-Man & Blade instead? 2 BAD guys? MIND BLOWN!

Mattel is by appointment only and it's just the movie stuff of Chronicles and First Ones which we already know of. No playsets, Masterverse or Origins reveals.
Security is super tight this year so no photography.

Sounds like a complete waste of time then, because even the new DC figures got little attention from anyone. I've never seen a toy company so bad at marketing.
Pixel Dan says he's off to see them at least.
Agreed. At this point, the game is definitely changing. Origins has very little blood left in it in terms of vintage characters. As for Masterverse, its sole purpose was to promote the Revelation/Revolution shows. We should consider ourselves lucky to have what we have today. I'd be a little upset if no more Snakes were produced, but hey, I have a complete MOTUC Classics collection, and I've started collecting the 200X Mondo line, which recently hinted at integrating Snakemen. I mean, what more could you ask for?@sketchyskeletor Mattel might be better off saving the old niche lines for the revealed show in March.

I don't have a complete Classics collection. And I can't afford Mondo & don't want 12" scale. I was happy with Masterverse. Masterverse was my line. This news is depressing as hell. The whole situation with Trump, tariffs, inflation, GREED, the shit economy and the state of the whole world is depressing as hell. Why even bother anymore? MOTU is a dumpster fire, Transformers are now unaffordable, video games are unaffordable, I don't even have a PS5 yet & the damn prices will not drop like they used to. Everything just keeps getting worse & worse & worse.

Might have been good to keep *some* new stuff for the show itself, but I guess their big promo push was the release of the pics before the show. Showing one more Man-At-Arms would have likely not gotten much traction, considering all the other companies being covered.
In a way, perhaps it was good, so they got the spotlight for themselves, right before the show.
And I’m sure a lot of folks still want to see the figures in person (and get a photo with the mannequins).

The only silver lining for me for all the reasons mentioned is that my exposure to some of the worst companies is severely eased!
It is not meant to be aggressive, but could a break be given to us with your ever-expanding complaints regarding Motu? And for the record, if your sentences implied any apologies for the opportunities I had or for being a passionate Motu fan, let me tell you, it's a lost cause (lol).I have a complete MOTUC Classics collection, and I've started collecting the 200X Mondo line, which recently hinted at integrating Snakemen. @sci-fitsunami I do get it. It’s really rough out there, and toy collecting has been my biggest source of consolation.
I also love Masterverse. While I have some Classics (the cheaper ones), and my large Origins collection tickles the nostalgia bone, MV has been the cool new stuff. Just last year I got almost all of the ones that came out, a record for me.
The one thing is that I have very little room, and was starting to stress out, after only 6 years of collecting. And maybe I felt a bit less enthusiastic recently anyway. Could be b/c there has been very little product announced, that is targeted at me, too.
It might be egotistical, but I would be happy with some special releases of MV, filling out the ranks.
That would be the pace that suits me, but I know there are a lot of passionate MV fans who’d love much more.
Interestingly, when MV started, the messages were opposite– lamenting the end of Classics, and hating on the (admitttedly weak) early MV. How things have changed, and yet are so similar…
The news has been confirmed. Masterverse is "on pause." Do you remember how they discontinued the Classics line back in 2019? 😒 Their corporate "blabla" failed to resonate with me when they recently proclaimed that the MV Vintage Collection would persist through the customary channels while concurrently proffering "special releases" via Mattel Creations.
@onlyoneskeletor ok, so they will un-pause it at some point, when the movie fades out, and when they run out of movie figures, which will be by this time next year, or sooner probably...they are going all in with the movie and I understand their hype, I don't want to hate or nothing like that, but it is not gonna be Godfather or some epic movie, it will be same as with every other new marvel type ish movie, it will be forgotten quickly

I would rather be talking about all the new Masterverse figures they just revealed at Toy Fair. In this Masterverse thread. Only 1 problem...
They couldn't even continue Masterverse on Mattel Creations? Pixel Dan didn't mention Masterverse continuing through 2026 like it was originally reported. Just flat dead stop? Nothing to even look forward to at SDCC? I wanted the Snakemen so bad. They've been teasing King Hiss for the past 2 years & now we're not getting anything? And I'm not supposed to complain? I knew the movie release was going to be bad but not THIS bad.
And of course, Origins is continuing no problem. How fuckin typical! The only other MOTU line I'm interested in is the Transformers crossover & now that's on hold too. Jesus Christ!!! The news couldn't possibly get any worse. They just killed my favorite toy line & they want me to be excited for the movie that just killed it?
And you know what the worst part is? The prices for the hard to get Masterverse figures like Webstor, Blade & BA Skeletor won't drop. They'll still remain sky high even though nobody is going to care about the line anymore. I wouldn't mind picking up a couple more BA Skeletors for customizing. I'd like to make a BA Faker. It would be nice if all the scalpers wanted to dump what they have for cheap but that won't happen.

That's the thing about this film, it needs to be a hit approaching the 2007 Transformers movie for what it cost... Transformers One levels of engagement won't cut it. So in fan terms it either continues for a long time or gets off the shelves pronto. I'm actually hoping for the latter, all told. I would very much like Masterverse to come back (I severely doubt it will for what they've sank into the new scale though) and for Mattel to remember who has been keeping the wider brand alive despite their stupidity.

good point, there is still thousands, tens of thousands of MV figures shelved around the world, such a shame man...with all the bad news lately I still want to believe they will continue the line when the movie buzz is over
Sounds like Masterverse is “on pause” just like Classics was…
I get wanting to revamp the brand for the movie, but Chronicles really should have been in Classics/Masterverse scale.
Same size, new buck/articulation.
If these movie figures were in scale, easy buy! But I’m just not starting another scale.
