I would heavily suspect that "Chronicles" is an extension of the "New Eternia" sublines at this point. First Scareglow, now this? Now, as for my personal appreciation of the figure, he's not bad, though doesn't generate the declic in me. Especially when Mondo may release their own 200x King Grayskull sooner rather than later. Just try again, Mattel! Oh and, no need to try to appealing me with your superb boxarts and potential teasing when half of them won't certainly never come to fruition, the lesson is definitely learned, as far as I'm concerned (lol).

Interesting... it's not what I was expecting, but I like it a lot more than the Revelation version.

I'm glad they added a pic comparing him to Origins Despara. This doesn't look compatible with Masterverse so I'll be skipping it. I don't understand why Scare Glow is so tall compared all these other Chronicles figures. Unless he was originally meant for Masterverse but they just stuck him in a Chronicles box at the last minute.
Looks like I'll be skipping most of the 2026 releases. And Masterverse probably won't be returning. They have moved to 6" so I can't see them going back to 7". I guess my Masterverse collection will be incomplete without Rio-Blast, Extendar, Stonedar, Rokkon & all the Snakemen except for Kobra Khan. Mattel went crazy with Snakemen for Origins & totally skipped them for Masterverse.
I got into Masterverse because I thought it was going to be the new Classics. Looks like I was wrong. Hindsight is 20/20, Mattel never really cared about Masterverse.
I watched the video & 2 things stood out:
1. "We thought it could be an opportunity to revise the scale."
WHY? WTF am I supposed to do now? I've been devoted to Masterverse since the very beginning & these new figures don't fit. They are just a tiny bit too small. What's the point? You screwed everything up by 1". Why would you even think of doing such a thing?
2. "It gave us another opportunity to reinterpret the Masters Of The Universe brand." Again WHY??? Why do you constantly have to "reinterpret" the brand? Origins & Masterverse were fine. WTF are you people doing? You keep starting new lines while never finishing the old ones.
I don't get any of this anymore. None of this makes any sense to me. Add this to the race swapping in the move & casting Kristen Wiig as Roboto & the entire year of 2026 feels like a huge April Fools joke. And everybody is raving about it. I just can't believe what I'm seeing.
The only sliver of hope I have is if they make the Snakemen in Chronicles as seen on King Grayskull's box, the 1" might not be a huge problem. I might be able to work them into my Masterverse collection. And females should work. But any characters like King Grayskull? Nope! Too small.

And that's why the wider fanbase has to reject Chronicles wholesale. Anything else is showing Mattel they can get away with yet more idiotic behaviour and condemning the rest of the fanbase by accident.

I never even bought into Classics personally and it's got nothing to do with what I'm talking about here.

I said it would be an anniversary option or however they wanted to do it. They just released vintage He-Man and Skeletor in a set that now goes for silly money. With Origins they've just rereleased them too and they've consistently sold out and being restocked. It led to people asking for a range of other characters they missed out on. People will buy in to stuff they missed or want unopened copies of or whatever. That's collectors for you.
But again, that's got nothing to do with what I mentioned above.

First, i think that King Grayskull head looks awful. Will def have to swap it out for a custom head from one of the talented folks on IG.

Agreed on the sentiments here. I am quite puzzled as to why they'd want to revise the scale after years of Origins/Masterverse being established, and between both lines the creators can basically make anyone or anything fit, regardless of canon/history, etc.
I don't see the benefit in changing a figure's height by an inch or so -- it doesn't save a ton of shelf space and now there's disparity with the stuff we've already been buying. If Masterverse had petered out and this was a relaunch after a year or two of the IP being fallow, that's one thing. But "pausing" MV to do this kinds of defies logic.
All I can think is that it's an excuse to go back to characters we've already bought but now we're compelled to buy them again as it's a new line/scale.

B. They don't want to offend any of their viewers because they want new subs & don't want to lose their old subs. So they have to be overly positive, fake & phony all the time. They are always walking on eggshells trying not to offend anybody because watch time = $$$.
Then you have me. The exact opposite. I don't give a fuck! I keep it REAL! I focus mainly on the negative because nobody else will. I have no filter & love to call out all the negative & stupid shit we get from these companies & Hollywood. Like RACE-SWAPPING which is completely pointless & serves no purpose whatsoever. Or refusing to follow the source material. Or making legacy characters like Roboto & Spikor totally unrecognizable. I already went through this nonsense with the Transformers movies. And now they expect me to start all over again in 6" scale? A smaller figure with a jacked-up price? HELL NO! I'm not paying $30 + tax + shipping for a tiny King Grayskull that doesn't fit in with my current collection. They're crazy!

The new movie looks good but it could have been GREAT if they hadn't fucked up so many characters. That's my problem with the movie. It's lopsided. Half the characters are perfect while the other half are unrecognizable. My favorite character, Spikor, has been completely destroyed. And you want me to be happy happy joy joy like everybody else? Get real!

@ CGBrad: I will buy that figure but only in the hope that there is coming a much better custom head as fast as possible. The Standard Head looks awful like he Head from the Dolph Lundgren Masterverse He-Man. The Dolph Lundgren Custom Head from Ramen Toys was perfect.
So Ramen Toys if you read that here: please do fast a custom head for the chronicles King Grayskull, cause the Mattel head looks terrible with a face sculpt like David Bowie on steroids...
Ha, what everybody else has said. I love the franchise itself but detest how Mattel treats it. They're the ones making the photocopies get blurrier each time, not me or any other consumer. All we can do is vote with our cash.
And let's be honest here, there's no generation of fans following us. Mattel couldn't even manage that like every other major brand did. So let it die until somebody with a fucking clue at Mattel gets a hold of it or they sell out to Hasbro or some conglomerate. The brand needs reinvented without short-term greed hobbling it from day one via Walmart.
