Written by This past weekend, there were a lot of great announcements in regards to “Masters of the Universe” during the Mattel panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
There were video games briefly discussed at Mattel’s panel too, like Masters of the Universe characters in Fortnite and Roblox. But what was notably absent from the panel was perhaps the most anticipated He-Man video game of all time: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction.
Originally scheduled to be released on April 28, 2026 which was announced via a very exciting trailer (below)….
…in April the video game didn’t drop… but rather a disappointing announcement did, indicating that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction was delayed until “this Summer” because “additional time for development (was) needed.”
And now here fans are, staring down the month of August, and a “Summer” release date for this exciting new video game is feeling uncertain (especially when Mattel did not mention this new game during their presence at San Diego Comic-Con… a portion of the panel labeled “Gamers Rejoice!”)
So if not Summer, then when? For a month now, a lone website called Kotaku listed a September 29th release date for this new He-Man game, but after reaching out to the website (and receiving no response) and finding nothing to collaborate this information, we decided it was not trustworthy to report.
(Since then our fellow He-Maniac Mike aka “Eternian Royalty” asked a reputable source at SDCC this past weekend about the mysterious September 29th release date, and he was told the date was misinformation.)
So what is going on with the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction” video game?
We dont know, but we are going to tag the companies involved in the social media posts associated with this article, and try to find out.

What the F*beeeep*? NoooooooooOOOO! I wanna play that Game! Now! It feels like we wait a decade now for this game! Why??? So much annoying delays… I love Beat’em Up Games. My first one was Street Fighter II on SNES. I am a Ken obsessed Player with annoying Hadoken and Showyouken spamming! Hadoken, Hadoken, Showyou….Ken! K.O.! Perfect! 😁
Later I bought Final Fight and the Streets of Rage Series on SEGA Genesis (Mega Drive). Since then I love Sidescroller Beat’em ups too. My actual favorites are Turtles Shredders Revenge and Streets of Rage 4. I’m really hungry for a good Masters of the Universe Fighting Game! NEEEEEEED! 🤪

I don’t understand. The trailer made it seem like it was pretty far into development. This is going to really break my heart if it is cancelled or just never mentioned again.
