OUR REVIEW:
While more entertaining than the previous moral driven episodes, this middling light-on-attractive-backgrounds tale does have a playful He-Man that is fun to watch... although his humor becomes borderline cruel by time the episode wraps. (5/10)

  1. I agree that is definitely a “fun" episode, despite it’s moral. This kind of reminds me of valley of power where He-Man just keeps mouthing off to his opponent, almost like Eternian smack-talk.

I also really liked the pairing of Trap-Jaw and Mer-Man, I wish they got another (full) episode of a team-up, their dynamic works well together. And while it dumbs down Mer-Man’s character more than usual, I love how Trap-Jaw gets him to help him by saying he’ll turn Eternia into 2/3 then 1/3 water.

Also nice to see Panthor, even though it was a whopping 2 seconds.

Did you see Pathor had the key? That was amazing.
      Laugh Evil-Lyn 3

  2. There are some sadistic elements like chaining Mer-Man and Trap Jaw’s necks to the table that I wish we got more of. I know it’s Filmation but everything felt extra neutered for laughs or for whatever like when the old dude gets paralyzed. Maybe I shouldn’t expect any different but it was super annoying this time.

  3. Liked this one. Feels very standard but in a good way. Enough interesting stuff happening.

gotta love how probably the most powerful energy source in Eternia is just found by a random kid blasting around with a laser.
Mer, Beastie and/or Jaw as a duo is always a treat for me in an episode. Yeah they seem like standard cartoon villain henchmen, but their dynamics are entertaining enough.
question: Why did despite from the beginning being portrayed as Skeletor’s main posse, Tri-Klops only appears in ten episodes I think?

That is a great question. Maybe it’s because Tri-Klops was voiced by Lou Scheimer and after voicing Orko and King Randor and Trap Jaw it was too much for him.
