Can’t remember who, but someone was speculating about this in the Mondo thread. If they were based on the classic designs, I would be very interested in these. But since they’re all based on the movie I’m not so sure.
@smokinya Same here, but one thing’s for sure—every manufacturer will be eager to grab their own piece of the pie in the coming months. I really enjoy this moment where fans can reignite their wildest dreams of getting their perfect version of the characters they love.
@onlyoneskeletor I agree, it’s a super exciting time to be a MOTU fan. Even if I hate the movie (which I don’t think I will) I really hope it’s successful since it’ll result in companies making things that I really love. I think the villains from Hot Toys will turn out really well, but the design of the Heroic Warriors are mostly duds from the film. There is no chance in hell I’d be paying over $300 for a Teela with the movie outfit.
That being said, Hot Toys does do a lot of stuff unrelated to feature films so if these figures are successful maybe they’ll do a separate MOTU line. I still think Mondo is doing the best renditions of these characters though. Hard to beat something that’s designed by Emiliano!
I had speculated about this. Not that these will be in my price range either 😅
we’ve seen the movie design several times in figure form, but this will be the most detailed. I would be curious if they would also do more classic figure designs… or if this would collide with Mondo.
Nice!!!
I speculated about this earlier!
This makes me pretty excited… I have a big collection of HotToys, most of them being MMS. I don’t think any company does facial sculpts and fine, cloth garments better than HT. (Jack Sparrow is absolutely insane… he is like a miniature Jonny Depp sitting on my shelf!!)
With that said, I have one concern for this MOTU line: the HT jointless muscle body “suit."
With He-Man bearing a lot of skin in this movie, I am afraid Hot Toys will opt for the silicone / rubber muscle body. Unfortunately, if this is the case, he will be prone to warping, wrinkling, and/or cracking and splitting if left in dynamic poses…
This is why my HT She-Hulk stands in a vanilla pose. 🙁
Personally, I’d prefer if Hot Toys just used their TrueType muscle body or one similar to the 23Toys BD003 male body:

I feel like that would be too close to a Mondo figure honestly and they’re going for a seamless body. They seem to be making improvements over the last few releases including Wolverine and Indy.
When I saw their Weapon X announcement I was wondering if MOTU could follow..lol
@dgsimo Oh yeah… I have no doubt that Hot Toys will use a seamless muscle body… and it is always unique to the actual actor’s physique. It should look just like Nicholas Galitzine does in the film.
However, that won’t stop me from swapping the body for one like the above. I want to be able to put my mini Galitzine in dynamic poses without worry of stress or cracks… (My Resident Evil Alice and Dark Knight can attest to that, unfortunately… 🙁 )
@dgsimo My eyes were literally stuck on these pictures. I’m really excited to imagine what it would be like if they attempted to produce a few vintage looks alongside these movie figures.

I guess we’ll see when they’re actually released.

If there was ever a dream collaboration or announcement to come to fruition it was this! I literally jumped in AJs DMs freaking out 🤣

First 200x cartoon collection and now Hot Toys. I guarantee you Mondo ain’t loving this.
Hot Toys announced they’re attending Hong Kong Comic Con next week on May 29th and bringing the MOTU figures!
