Written by Mattel reported their Third Quarter 2025 Financial Results this week and the numbers were not as good as they hoped.
Mattel revealed their overall Net Sales of $1,736 million was down by 6% (down 7% in constant currency, an alternate measurement not affected by currency shifts.)
However, while overall sales are down, the sales of action figures are up, thanks (in part) to Masters of the Universe!
Categorized as a ‘Challenger’ (not a market leader but able to compete directly with dominant action figure lines), the brands of “Jurassic Park“, “Minecraft“, “WWE” and “Masters of the Universe” experienced a 9% bump in sales.
This is positive news for action figure collectors in what might be another tepid holiday season for the toy industry this year.
And with the New “Masters of the Universe” Movie coming out in June of next year, we expect those “Masters of the Universe” sales to just to go up and up!

That is the best news I could possibly get, except, of course, for a renewed catalogue, which is usually planned for this time of year regarding Motu (lol). So maybe we can start dreaming a little harder about the crazy offers that might come out of the franchise (playsets, vehicles, obscure characters, etc.).
