OUR THOUGHTS:
While this episode's writing lacks logic at times, the story is still entertaining and at its best when focusing on Skeletor's new weapon "The Collector", a devastating ship that surprisingly feels more threatening than this episode's title monster. Man-At-Arms' last stand is especially badass here. (8/10)

  1. This was another top episode as a kid, definitely a top 5 in regards to remembering it/watching it as a kid. Colossor is such a cool and memorable villain – He and Granamyr are the two that gave me nightmares as kids (but still loved them). His size makes him such a cool threat, I love that it takes eight Heroic Warriors to take him out.

The plot is definitely out there, this is certainly one to not overthink and just enjoy the ride as there is a lot of action/moving parts. I still laugh at the fact that Skeletor 1. Doesn’t notice that He-Man changed the colors of his controls and 2. When he tries to shoot He-Man he instead hits all the statues exactly the way the heroes needed.

For a show that’s light on continuity I also like that we got a Collector “introductory" episode. This feels like a more unique lineup as Beatman is still more cunning and that we get Panthor (sadly we’re 13 episodes in and we’re already halfway through his 8 appearances, and the next two are blink and you miss cameos).

  2. Putting this on my favorites list, though at this points it’s more of “Best episodes to recommend to a newcomer" list. But really it is a great episode.
A lot of high stakes, a lot of things happen and it doesn’t feel overstuffed or poorly paced.
I suddenly love how Evil-Lyn suddenly isn’t the only crony who’s fed up with Skel’s BS nor ain’t threatened by him. Seriously Beast Man in this is a treat.
There was a moment where I was like “Wait how is Sorceress out of Grayskull?" then I remembered the castle apparently has a lab of some kind, I mean it does in the iconic playset, but is it one of those things they only show a few times in the show.
Episode is so good, the writers I felt legit forgot to sneak in a subtle moral in the story, so the moral segment at the end is just like “ummmm…..uuuhhhh…..running is good, kids! It’s fun! Ummmm….ask your doctor idk gotta go fast!"
I don’t think I’m the only one who’s reminded of that one Simpsons Treehouse of Horror segment where Bart and Lisa suddenly become superheroes and fight to save Xena along with random Spock, Doctor Who and Matt Groening cameos from Comic Book Guy’s “The Collector" persona

  3. This is great episode. Collector gets an origin story and it’s awesome. Evil-Lyn and Beast Man get fed up with Skeletor’s crap. I love that. Panthor has Skeletor’s back. I also love that. I don’t understand why when you are turned to stone it becomes permanent at sunset but it makes me think of that poor farmer. You know the poor farmer will be a statue for the rest of his life. I’m tempted to give this episode a 10 out if 10. It’s great.
