@grayskull1979 Adios, asshole! Us real MOTU fans aren't going to miss a misguided, hateful moron like you. You disappearing will only make the MOTU fandom better! Perhaps you should watch some He-Man episodes and really think hard about the moral messages at the end. I doubt it will happen but just maybe, it'll help you become a better person.

@grayskull1979 lol you obviously don’t know how strong our community is. They can make an entire season about Adam picking up cat shit and we’ll still be here supporting it all. Go away loser

@grayskull1979 Look at what happened to @sci-fitsunami he was just like you, just a little more perverted.

All he ever did was complain about the costumes & the *LOOK* of the characters. THAT'S IT! Go back & read all his posts & that's all you'll find.

He simply wanted Teela, Evil-Lyn & Sorceress to wear their regular, normal outfits that they always wear. He wanted Teela to look like Teela, not Scarlett from GI Joe. And you call him a "pervert" for that?

He didn't want Hollywood to pull another Transformers "Bayverse" and make the characters unrecognizable. (Spikor, Roboto).

He was upset, and rightfully so, that they totally redesigned & ruined his #1 favorite character. Now he will never see his favorite character in live action.

Yes! What exactly did happen to Sci-Fi Tsunami?  He simply decided that being associated with people like you & all the other TOXIC fans isn't worth the effort. The TOXIC fans who accuse him of being a pervert for simply wanting the characters to wear the regular outfits they always wear. For wanting the characters to look like the characters.

WHAT A MONSTER!!!  How dare he? Angry Scare Glow

@sci-fitsunami being upset is one thing but to say he spits in the face of revelations fans is something a toddler would say, not a grown man.

C) The franchise is so multifaceted at this point, I really doubt there is one project that will kill the line. I feel like some fans actually want to see it happen so they can say "I told you so"

That's just it... there will always be people who claim the sky is falling and MOTU will die if the next project doesn't turn out exactly as how they see it in their heads.

Yet, MOTU is so much more than what one person's vision of the "perfect" MOTU should be. It has grown to such a degree that the fanbase loves MOTU for hundreds, if not thousands of reasons. Some like the sci-fi aspect, some the barbarian, others like the character designs, or the magic, or the morals, or the comradery, armor, vehicles, beasts, etc., etc.

I like how you use the word multifaceted. MOTU is just that, meaning something for everyone!

Someone coming here and posting awful things about a person he's never met and an entire legion of fans doesn't appear to be an actual MOTU fan in my eyes. It didn't take long for his true colors to show.

@kinggrayskull09 No, certainly not you. I was referring to the vitriol in a post from earlier in this thread.

I still have my doubts we'll get it, but if we did, I think they'll promote it like a new show.  They will either give it a new subtitle like Revolution or go as far as to call it something like He-Man & She-Ra: Despara's Journey.  It will still be a sequel, but not require people to see the two previous parts.  I hope we finally see He-Man and Teela married in animated form even if they time jump to a point they already are.  As for Adora, since the previous 2 parts were supposed to be a sequel to Filmation He-Man, I hope she eventually has a relationship with Sea Hawk, but I don't think Despara/Adora/She-Ra will have any time for relationships if just another 5 parter or movie.

Depending on if they consider this as a technical sequel and what exactly Netflix's rights are and when do their sequel option rights end, this could potentially move to Amazon and have a new animation studio. They don't necessarily need Netflix to tell the Despara story.

I think if it falls through we could still get it in comic book form some day.

@battlecat327 This is exactly what he is. This is the usual parroting of the top 10 Youtube ragebait grifters and their wind up attack drones. This is about "who"  made the series and who Kevin Smith is "personality wise" versus the reasons and honest discussion about why the story he presented unfolded like it did and what you really didn't like. Their whole argument is "duh Kevin Smith bruh" and "Teela cut her hair and is a Mary Sue bruh" Is it a stretch that Teela had some sort of adjacent "Grayskull power" in her from birth? According to the story it was safe to assume she did. I doubt most of them even watched Filmation since they never truly reference it or even refer back to it. It would give more weight to their barking. They all repeat the same 5 or 6 reasons the series "sucked bruh" with no real thought out reason. Filmation is ultimately what got us here. I always say concerning Revelation/Revolution that if you watched Filmation and you watch the episode Teela's Quest, then watch Revelations it lines up with what Smith was using primarily as a plot point for the series. Had Filmation continued that is where it was going. It's obvious. That also means Teela was going to find out Adam's secret. Argue her "reaction"  to learning it in Revelations all you want. Yes, Kevin put a more "modern spin" on that part, who cares. It's relationship type drama in the social media age. There are so many angles to take on that. When you factor in a romantic angle that again, was a part of Filmation's stories, Teela's reaction in Revelation isn't that hard to understand. You can argue Smith "leading" with Teela's journey and not He-man's adventures. That fair and legit. The series was supposed to be a "continuation" of Filmation. So we are suppose to suspend a bit of belief and assume a lot has happened and the big overall epic plot is going to finally happen before the reset. I knew once the movie was actually getting made that the grift drones would get their orders from the YouTube grifters to spread out into the MOTU fan base to stir up garbage for empty content. Just to get pats on the head from said YouTube grifters that depend on super chats to continue to fund their lifestyle over honest discussions. Excellent response Battlecat327, salute!!! Even if Kevin is at the helm more than likely he will have a tighter lease on what he can do in part 3 due to future movies ( fingers crossed ) comics and series if it gets that far. I look forward to what is in store if part 3 is really a go. I'm ok with Smith helming it.

???  Ok, but what's this have to do with me? I never got onboard the Kevin Smith hate train. I always understood Revelations was all about how Teela became the new Sorceress. I liked Revelation & Revolution except for killing off characters. Killing Panthor soured me.

I don't even know what we're talking about here. I just got a notification in my email that somebody mentioned me here. So I just jumped on here because of the "pervert" comment. I never did anything perverted. I just wanted the characters to look right. That's all.

I’m actually curious, speaking about the “looks” of the main characters, how they’ll treat He-Man, Teela and a couple more in a potential new series.

After the movie, like someone else said, Mattel heads might see this as more important than “just” a REV / REV sequel, and take more control of how much freedom the designs should take.

I really enjoyed both series but at the end, He-Man’s look was almost a bit TOO far away from how I see him. A mix of CGI He-Man with an 87 cape…? Very curious how his look would have worked just for another more grounded adventure?
Often, if a look is a bit too far, you can make it work with the writing and the surrounding.

(Tri-Teela looks more MOTU-esque and works with no problems).

But anyway, back to Mattel head honchos: they may ask Smith & Co to make He-Man, MAA, Teela a liiiiittle bit closer to their classic look, while still honoring all that’s happened. Maybe even just He-Man. Recognizability etc. Perhaps just a tweak. Perhaps full on return to more barbarian with just keeping the hair?

I’m not advocating or asking for it. Just musing and speculating.

And am I an entitled prick for WORRYING that this project might “only” be a comic ???.

I am lifelong OBSESSED with comics, but in this case, I’d really love it to be animated again.
It’s fine if they make some creative changes or make it a straight-to-prime feature film instead… just let it be motion please!

@cosmic I’m with you, huge fan of the comics and I would be a bit disappointed if we don’t have a proper animated follow-up. I think you’re (we’re) allowed to have a preference on format, maybe just don’t take it to a place where you end up on the evening news 🤣

Really fun question, “how would he look?”

The 2012 DC run turned He-Man’s volume up to 11 for the conclusion of the Eternity War and turned him back down to a (still respectable) 8 or 9 by de-accessorizing (subsequent guest appearances in Multiverse and Masterverse) - I thought it was pretty well done!

Revolution final form doesn’t have much to trim away, give him a haircut and lose the cloak and shoulder piece? I wouldn’t want to see the Power Sword reverted…

Don’t think a full reversion is called for, maybe a new look bridging the two is better?

More barbarian but in the new color scheme and keep the hair? I dunno!

Whatever they end up going with, I want to see it… preferably animated 😎

@johnnyotool Yeah I think some compromise might actually be fun, mix a bit of the old with the new?

Never read the Eternity War except some early issues… What I didn’t like was that He-Man had pants.
I do think we might need some stories again where we keep a classic look. I like what they are doing with the new comics.

But yeah for a REV sequel, it should build on what we had at the end of the existing series.

I'm just gonna say it... I want to see He-Man with a beard.

As King He-Man and, later, as New Eternia Battle Armor He-Man, he always looks great when sporting a beard... more wise, experienced, and older - yet still powerful.

Notice that Kevin Smith never mentioned the word series? That's because it isn't. This will be a comic event.
