I'm OK with this. Some people can't argue much since Teela is cannonacly adopted...this could be cool.
@mungosmungo8694 I dont see an issue with Duncan still being Teela's biological father. Teela can come from mixed race parents.
I must be honest. It took me a second to get used to the idea but I quickly warmed up to it. Idris is an amazing actor that elevates all who surrounds him with a fantastic speaking voice that demands your attention. I think this is fantastic news.

The girl they got to play Teela isn't a pale skin redhead like the cartoon so that tracks.
I’m stunned that they got such a big name for this role. This is excellent news for the potential success to the movie and franchise altogether. I’ve seen nothing but good performances from Idris Elba and so looking forward to seeing him armored up!!
The Teela actress is from Brazilian parents, so she'll have to be adopted like in Filmation. I'd rather he play Dekker or Clamp Champ, or Melaktha, but not a huge deal. He is a good actor. I guess he is their "big name" besides whomever plays Skeletor.
I'm glad there's e a veteran actor in this film to sell it to the casuals, he already has a following with the young ones by voicing Knuckles and you need that audience on board to sell your toys. My one concern is I hope Duncan won't be played for laughs if he tags along, visits Earth, and has to adapt to the culture, as he already does enough of that with Knuckles
@keldorsnose that would have been a great casting too, but probably too expensive.

When I first saw his picture my mind went to Idris playing Clamp Champ. I am happy we got him but could you imagine?
So, casting I would love, and I don't know ow who he should/ play and he's super busy over the next 6 months, but I swear Jason Statham would be perfect for several roles in this franchise.
He loves to do his own thing, but if you think about it for 2 mintues...he would fit.
I LUV THIS! Idris is such a hunk. A lot of ladies will come to see the movie just for him. I am serious y'all. This is good.
