We have the Power!
I love this episode, primarily because it’s just whacky and fun, it’s so entertaining just about every time they put Orko with Cringer/Battlecat. Only minor complaint is no Battlecat for the final fight but this is truly Cringer’s episode so it makes sense.
Nice to see Queen Marlena get a larger role in the plot - you’d think kidnapping the Queen would have been a bigger plot device over 130 episodes but this is the only time Skeletor targets specifically her - I’m also 99.9% sure this is the only time in the series they exchange dialogue, and Skeletor is at his best in this scene with “I can see that!” and “hE-mAn will take care of no one!”
I also wish we had this lineup of Evil Warriors again - probably the four most competent outside of Evil-Lyn and all of the scaly more water based ones.
What the hell I just watch? Lol. Someone explain Skeletor's plan to me? He had to kidnap Queen Marlena so He-Man would come to Snake Mountain so Screeech can attack him? Can't Screech just fly to He-Man?
@battlecat327 Having Cringer use Battle Cat as his crutch to overcome his fear would be in direct opposition of Cringer's psychological journey. It would have been better if He-Man offered Cringer to transform into Battle Cat and Cringer refused so he can face his fear. That would have been better.
Seeing this being a Cringer focused episode, it immediately put my expectations a bit low, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Things I find notable
-Marlena being plot relevant idk
-I love that when she's taken to Skeletor, her first response is commanding him to let her go. I mean, yeah she's the queen but b*tch that's Skeletor you really think he would obey?
-I'm betting if this episode came out a few years later than it did, the ghost Cringer would've encountered would be Scareglow. That would've been cool.
-The Dragon Walker the way I see it:
4 stars. The dragon walker is the slowest form of travel ever and Randor could have gotten off his ass to help orko and cringer rescue his wife, but the villan line-up is the best, the dialogue and character work is great and the pacing is great.
