We have the Power!
This is a wonderful episode that I feel sometimes doesn’t get talked about enough, it’s everything you can ask for from an episode of He-Man. This one is particularly interesting because by production order it was much earlier on, so I wonder when it was actually finished because of so many elements that you associate with She-Ra and late into He-Man such as the Sword of Protection, the Horde, and a lot of the later music that I more associate with She-Ra episodes, and at least in the US it was aired first in 85 with the “Season 3” batch
For me it’s always interesting to look back on because kid me always understood things differently- due to the transition of leaving Grayskull kid me always thought they were in some type of open air courtyard in the middle of Grayskull, not that He-Man, Stridor, and the Sorceress had traveled to a different location.
That is why I like this episode the best. It has She-Ra's sword of protection.
@pop-inamorata @battlecat327 Did you notice the old Sorceress called both of them swords of power? The name sword of protection might of not been invented yet.
Can anyone describe to me the major differences the Sorceress' origin usually has between continuities?
This is a perfect episode. A 10/10 for me. Learning all about Teela Na and the sacrifices she has made since she was young was a dream come true for me and it still is! It's a beautiful episode. My only hope is we finally get a Cartoon Collection figure of her.

@slycooperastroboy51 There is nothing worth explaining. The mini comics went as far as making Teela a Sorceress clone. It was all very stupid.
5 stars. One of the best lore building episodes with a lot of heart at the end. Stridor shines a lot more than one would expect from the toy. Amazing how much shera foreshadowing there is here considering the show was still quite a while off.

I wanted to give it a 10! I labored over deciding that score. It was really the powers of the Sorceress that kept it a 9 for me. Beyond the extremely convenient Crystal of Allenar, I struggled with how the new Teela Na Sorceress (in the flashback) was able to also leave the Castle to use her powers to protect the village. It makes it a little confusing, thinking I have her powers down and understanding how she is supposed to be bound to Castle Grayskull. (I'm also surprised Kuduk Ungol didn't explain that one giant restriction to Teela Na.) So, it was too much (for me) to give it a perfect score, but I still love it. 🙂

@vintagetyler that’s a great point, I never really picked up on that - I wonder if the initial premise was put together in 84 and then they added a couple of aspects late like putting the sword of protection in there with the power sword and putting the Horde emblems on the soldiers- thinking about it, I’m pretty sure they’re never directly called the Horde in this episode
