I feel like this episode is one that should be discussed more when talking about some of the best of the series (and I’m guilty of not doing this too). It’s a great mystery and educational in a non forced narrative sense (although I agree with you that I wish they had someone other than He-Man be the “ignorant” one for the audience. I also agree that Garth changing in the end undermines things slightly, but still good.

I also like the Beastman/Tri-Klops pairing, I wish we got more consistent random ones like this. Over the course of the series I think there are 12 recurring Evil Warriors but there is definitely an abundance of Beastman/Trap-Jaw or Beastman/Evil-Lyn, which comes at the cost of other pairings. Glad we got this one though!

This really feels this started off as an 80s environmental PSA short/commercial, but they had an episode slot to fill so they just extended it into an episode to save a bit more on animation. Not that that's a bad thing but it would've been more engaging if this episode had a better story and dialogue. And the ending moral being "It's what's on the inside that counts" feels like they were trying to cover up what it was meant to be.

I do like Garth though but really? That's his name? He does look like a character that would've fit in well with the OG toyline.

Tri-Klops appears so little in this show that I forgot what his voice sounded like.

This was a good episode. The plot wasn't all over the place. Many have these episodes start with He-Man saving something over here and then the real story happens over there. Not this time. I think I'll add this one to my list of favorites.

3 stars. Plot makes no sense but is quite creative so I'll give it a pass.
