I've always found this episode to be fine. I don't really hate it, but there's not much that's memorable about it outside of Rago, and that's not a good thing. I would pit him up against any other character across the 130 episodes for "most aggravating voice." I also find the walking through the jungle scenes and chasing the bad guys drawn out.

It may be a little too much on the nose, but I do like when they incorporate the moral into the story through a natural way, and this episode does that.

I also had forgotten until the rewatch, but adult me had to laugh out loud when Rago's motivation for all of this is because he was given a job that "should be done by a girl."

"The fire stones" switches to a whisper "are just inside" Ragu would be perfect in an Austin Powers movie.

I find every episode is a good episode and this is no exception however I do understand the complaints with Rago. He often sounds more childlike than Podi. Podi comes across as an authentic adolescent and Rago sometimes can come across like a toddler. I think this must have been by design and is the reason why John's acting was so zany. I like it.

This is one of those episodes has to be an example of He-Man at his campiest and I like it for that.

The animation in this one is at times awkward like a shot of Teela cutting vines.....with a staff and a side shot of He-Man running near the end.

The plot of a grand adventure involving conflict starting and escalating just because two kids (or at least child-minded?) were playing sports and broke something.

When Adam turns into He-Man, the music erroneously starts a bit too early so the timing of the chorus chant "HE-MAN" feels a bit out of sync.

And the voice acting for the one off characters is just funny. I'm betting most of the time for these one-off characters, the VAs were just directed a good amount of the time to sound devilish if they're given a baddie but not too much like Skeletor or for a good guy to just do an accent.

Podi's delivery of "I won't do it!" just cracks me up a bit for some reason.

That was the moment I realized John Erwin was high recording this episode. 🤣

2 stars. Snoozer episode. Even my daughter realised the rhino animation was being repeated again and again (fist time she has said anything.) Very forgetable.
