Thanks brothers. I think what got me is I was already worried about making a good impression after the marital problems we've been going through which has been kind of public knowledge. Then their visit starts with that. Sweet Jesus. 😂

@he-dad Again don't worry about impressing them. You and the wife are the only ones that matter when there are problems minus any kids. Just take it day by day and make sure you are happy.

Here's an idea: Collaborate with your wife to create a Business Plan for your marriage.  There are tons of sites on the web that explains what a Business Plan is, the sections in one and how to create them.  But basically it's a blueprint for a business.  If you treat your marriage like a business, looking at it unemotionally and then jointly seeking a path for it to succeed, this may work for you.  Doing this certainly has the benefit of you and your wife working together on something very important and a few laughs along the way won't hurt.  In this way you both have your say in how the "business" of your marriage will operate in the future and you become joint owners in it.

​I've enjoyed doing these recent installments about writing.  Today is the third, dealing with how to write a pilot episode script.  With that done, those who want to sell a series -- or are interested in the process for selling a series -- will now be well on their way to having a complete Presentation Plan -- a Business Proposal, a Series Bible and a Pilot Episode Script -- with which to approach potential broadcasters with their series.  And I'll deal with how to do exactly that in Installment 36, which will top on Thursday.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy today's installment.  Kim and I will drink a toast to all of you faithful viewers at the event tonight.

Well Episode 37 has dropped and we transition back to my career at DIC and the world of animation in the 80s. 

In this episode I continue working on Lady Lovely Locks, a wonderful series for young viewers. Balancing out my joy at working on the series is my crossing swords with DIC’s new VP of Creative Affairs, the first in a number of gaffes I’ll make.

Remember, I promised to show you all side of my story…and I always keep my promises.

I got a hate site shut down this week, one email to the right person and I got the site shut down. I feared the escalation of bullies being emboldened by the merchandise - and whatever else would have been posted - on the site to commit hate crimes, so I reported it and it got shut down. I would do it again in a heartbeat too. When I vowed to become a social justice warrior, I meant it and I don't just "talk the talk". Now I take action. The funny thing is that the person whose hate site it was believes they were taken down by a company. No company, just ME.

With the time change looming on the horizon, Kim has changed her office hours to an hour earlier, which means we can tape an hour earlier on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Thus, Episode 38 has now dropped.

It’s a fun episode with some ‘scary stuff’ about Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixie Tails as well as my first time meeting one of the truly towering figures from the Golden Age of Television Animation.

@he-dad Hey, man.  Just now reading down through this thread.  I hope y'all are doing well.  Our marriage didn't improve until my wife and I both started to move closer to the Lord.  Once that happened, we both started moving back closer to each other.  We just couldn't do it without Him at the center of our lives.  It still takes effort on our part and we're certainly not perfect, but the improvement has been amazing.  I only regret that we didn't figure out what was missing sooner.

As far as other folks' opinions on your collections.  My extended family has always kind of felt the same as yours and they felt it's silly.  My response was always "Yep, it is silly.  That's the point.  I make hundreds of important decisions every day that affect the lives of other people and this is something I enjoy that doesn't have consequences for others."

Praying for y'all, bro.
