I believe during the Return of Superman saga, DC Comics published an issue with the cover basically asking who is the real Superman. Turns out none of the ones are the cover were. So Mattel/Dark Horse comics could be doing the same here.
@he-metayer you are right. I still own that whole run of comics, from his death to hos return. There were four "supermen" all of which were not the real guy.
