I'm watching for new releases. Maybe something cool will drop at SDCC? Or maybe some Mattel Creations surprises. Those usually pop up out of nowhere with no announcements. But so far I am only interested in Scare Glow & the Fright Fighter. I was interested in that King Grayskull until everybody said it was an AI fake.
This is how I'm going to remember 2026:
My #1 favorite MOTU character
and what 2026 did to him:
The head looks exactly like one of Davy Jones' crew from Pirates of the Caribbean. This goes with that new coral Skeletor perfectly.
So naturally I'm bummed out. The only good thing about this figure is the flail weapon. Looks a lot better than his classic weapon.
I'm planning to make a resin copy of the original Spikor head & cast it in the same lavender & put it on this new movie abomination. I want to buy this figure for the flail so I'm gonna need to do something to save the rest of it. The body is ok but that head has to go.
Golden Skeletor arrived from Walmart yesterday. I beat Cancel Con!
He’s adorable. So much more petite than Origins. Head looks great. Cardback is thick as a brick. Smaller package than Origins, but there still some classic MOTU vibe to it.
I’m hesitant to open him, but I really want to. Of course he’s been out of stock online.
I also saw the Mighty Masters on WM.com now, but only from $&@# resellers for $15. Nice idea, making a very affordable, little mini-line, for 5.99, and no way to order it under $15 because of the vultures and their bots… Hopefully at some point they will be available for a better price. They are adorbs.
April is almost here. Hope we’ll see some preorders soon. I want that Core 4-pack and ofc Scare Glow… though o have a bad feeling about the latter. “That” EBay shop is already selling masses of him.
@sci-fitsunami I can understand your view on Spikor. For me the new movie version is little more than a person painted lilac with some spikes added. Certainly not MOTU Spikor.
I ended up biting the bullet and purchasing Revelations Spikor and Stinkor. Awaiting delivery now. Was hoping they would come up in NE, but alas was not to be.
According to Toy Habits, there are 4 MOTU Mattel Creations releases in April & King Grayskull is the 1st. Anybody see that? Is King Grayskull real? And if it's Chronicles does that mean the same size as Scare Glow/Masterverse?

@sci-fitsunami according to the MC calendar there are four MOTU drops, but is at midnight on the 25th so that's movie stuff and another is the 28th at midnight so that's probably the video game.
The 8th is Chronicles King Grayskull, leaving the 20th a mystery.

@sci-fitsunami Btw there is an AI Fake of that upcoming Chronicles King Grayskull making the rounds, just ignore that, it’s dumb. The only visuals we have are small, small crops of a few details, (see news section on the front homepage). We do know he’s white.
My Walmart has a tag on the shelf for Chronicles. Does anybody know if that's for Scare Glow or the regular figures like He-Man & MAA? I had them scan it & they said there are only 4 coming in about a week. I'm hoping it's Scare Glow. But they are $26.89, to me that's $30 with tax. I'm not gonna be able to afford this much longer so maybe it's good they switched to a lot of stuff I don't like/want?

For now I believe so? Hard to say what happens over the next couple of months but he's the first released in the Chronicles line and Walmart looks to have first dibs on all of it.
Also Chronicles Battle Cat is out in Mexico.
There's no quicker way to hobble a new line than to make it a Walmart exclusive. Especially internationally, retailers and sites barely stock MOTU as is without them having to import exclusives. Mattel's distribution sucks and nobody needs the admin when chances are they won't even receive the next wave in time if at all.
And like we've seen this play out countless times before, it's why the Origins cartoon figures don't sell because if you've gaps in a previous line, have to continually decide whether to feed scalpers or buy on import, how many will bother with that unnecessary bullshit all over again?
@sci-fitsunami looks like Scare glow. They just got packed out and were 10 on shelf. Came to $29.33 with tax. I hope they don’t release in waves like Masterverse, I don’t feel like dropping $120 up front

@sketchyskeletor - fully agree. beyond their habit of canceling orders and then seeing the just-canceled stuff on their site offered at markup from secondary sellers, not every WalMart even stocks MOTU. I'm in WA, US, and none of the WalMarts around here stock MOTU *AT ALL*

They're my absolute least favorite store for any toy company to partner with... i with Mattel would just offer all their stuff direct. = /

While I agree with Walmart absolutely SUCKING in the US, partially because the stores and the website have no coordination, partially because of the darn resellers using bits to get everything first–
They are sometimes fairly easy to get in other countries. The fact they are Walmart exclusives here doesn’t have to mean they are exclusives somewhere else.

@smitty-81 Not really feeling this King Grayskull… interestingly, his joints and overall shapes look very Masterverse-ish. Check that elbow?? Or the wide pelvis area.
Although, he is apparently only 6 inches tall. What is it with these height issues– Movie He-Man and Scare Glow are reportedly 6 3/4, is this a mistake or is this guy smaller?
As I’m not a King Grayskull Fan, I was waiting to see if I’ll be wowed somehow… but he looks too plain… and I don’t love the head and hair. So maybe actually … a pass for me?

There's two immediate things wrong with King Grayskull, that hair and the height. And I'm immediately out. The only way I'd even consider it is if the height is wrong (wouldn't be the first time) and at quite the price cut. This figure should have been the easiest win but Mattel gotta Mattel.

From what we've seen of chronicles, it seems to be all over the place with style.And scale, some of them are clearly based on the movie.And the majority of the ones we're gonna get this year are probably based on the movie. But their inaugural edition Scareglow is huge compared to them and king Grayskull seems to be either short or just an average hype person, which I don't think he should be.
Considering how slowly things have been selling out on Mattel Creations lately, it might not be a bad idea to wait and see some in hand reviews before deciding on getting him or not, if size is your only concern.

Hmm there's images of a Sky Sled and He-Man Core set out there but hard to know if it's AI or not, especially when the Sled looks nothing like what's depicted on the Fright Flight box.
