They still have a few Filmation characters I really hope they get to…
Kobra Khan
Mekaneck
Sy-Klone
Moss Man
Marzo
Horde Trooper
… and more!
Hope they don’t leave Filmation in the dust for 200X…
100% agreed.
If Mattel planned it correctly, the Cartoon Collection could last another five or six waves - depending on how many figures are released in each.
If nothing else, I would kill for some never-before-seen-in-figure-form characters like Negator, Dragoon, Marzo, Tullamore, Squinch, Melaktha, and Enchantress!!

I'm wondering if they'll have the guts to do Chopper...
I would love a CC Chopper!!
His cartoon design is perfect for the CC Origins line.

The Game Master!!! I've wanted him for decades now. They still have a few Filmation characters I really hope they get to…

They're playing it safe for the 40th anniversary of She-Ra (no other Princess of Power in sight?), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this summer's convention will feature a Slime Pit and a Mantisaur.
Marleena.
Classics went on for a long time and made literally everyone except for arguably the most interesting character who has never gotten their own figure. They have to make Randor first, and unlike normal Origins I hope they give him as sword and not just a staff regardless if he ever weilded one in Filmation or not. He's a damn king.
For Marleena I hope they don't give her a CC Shadow Weaver solid bottom half for the skirt/dress. Make it a cloth material with a split on the side for poseability. Also give her a blaster even if she's in her more likely queen attire and not spacewoman one.
Also unrelated to CC but I want an Origins Horde Prime figure. More likely would be his Classics design which looks cool but one based off his obscure appearance in the 80s UK comics would be cool even if the design is a bit goofy purely because of his thin antennas and antenna mustache.
If it were up to me if I somehow worked at Mattel, I would try to work out a deal with Universal/Dreamworks to make Origins She-Ra '18 figures. Love his design there, showing you don't always need a very dark-ish color scheme to make the biggest bad of the show look menacing. Also Origins scaled '18 Hordak and Entrapta.
But that's neither here nor there.

Marlena isn't a never-before-seen-in-figure-form character since she technically has two variations in Classics.
But, this just furthers the point that CC could potentially continue the Origins line for some time.
>>>The Power of the Good and the Way of the Magic!<<<
@ornclown Really? Okay now I am just finding out now that Classics did offer her as an Comic-Con exclusive.
My misconception probably came from me seeing a video on her in this series called MIA 80s Ladies (Recommend it, it goes over the interesting lacks of certain female characters in 80s toylines) and misremembering that video as saying she has never gotten a figure period somehow. Just looked at it and yeah I did.
Still my point still stands an Origins Marlena would be awesome and I would say we need. Again, I think she's the most interesting character in the franchise at least from my exposure so far that hasn't gotten enough prominence.
Yeah we know a ton about Randor in various continuities, but what was her Star-Lord-esque backstory Earth life like? Maybe the upcoming film will go a little into detail because correct me if I'm wrong but I think one synopsis of the movie said that Adam is on Earth for 20 years at the beginning and was raised by some relatives(?) presumably Marlena's family maybe?
Honestly I hope that's the case because Superman is literally coming out in a week and thankfully it won't be when he's an infant because they cast both a young Adam and Teela. I'm assuming the film will begin with 10-year old Adam being sent to Earth for safety when Keldor attacks the kingdom and then the plot kicks into gear in present day when Teela comes to Earth to find Adam and his sword and they go back to Eternia for the rest of the movie.
Just my speculation from everything we know.
Masters on Instagram has new Fright Zone pics.
As bullshit as the price is I'm looking forward to finally owning one! I do big displays with the playsets so I'm interested to see how many figures will actually fit on there and how much I'll have to build around it!

okay real talk, would you guys vibe with an Origins Horde Prime figure? He would very likely be Mattel Creations/Fan channel exclusive using the classic normal Origins cardback, but would you?
also MOTU lore question as I’m still learning: Is Horde Prime considered the closest thing the whole franchise has to a “Biggest bad final boss”? Like basically the Palpatine, the Thanos, the Darkseid, the Unicron, Y’know? The villain who is the most powerful in any continuity really who even the standard ones like Skeletor, Hordak and King Hiss are weak against alone and even fear at times.
if he isn’t, then who do most fans consider the “Final boss” character of MOTU if you get what I’m saying?

I don't vibe with Horde Prime at all. He doesn't really help the story, except for in the He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special. Other that that he just makes Hordak look foolish and that's not what Peter Cullen promised us.

Personally, I would not vibe with Horde Prime...
Just like I wouldn't vibe with Light Hope.... both are unnecessary and goofy AF, IMO.

I dunno, the Classics versions of both figures were pretty cool.
So Mattel Creations is having a limited time sale with one action figure a day for a week up to 50% off. From what I looked for Origins that are listed, Geldor, Night Stalker and the already marked down priced He-Man generations 4-pack are among the ones listed. Are any of these good? I just made my first non-subscription MC purchase this morning with He-Ro and Hurricane Hordak.
- Geldor I know is an obscure character I know nothing about from the OG mini-comics but the fact that he's an exclusive obscure character makes me want me to get him just to have him.
- Night Stalker. I have Stridor, but again it's another case where I feel like maybe if it's a good sale price I might get him just to have him.
- The 4-pack I think would be a good buy for under $100 mainly just for the exclusive New Adventures and Netflix Origins He-Mans included. Also the chrome swords look cool and the packaging looks awesome. The Filmation He-Man is just the normal Origins figure with a cartoon head before CC existed and the 200x figure I already have so I probably would keep both those MIB.
Again, you guys recommend getting any of these if they're on a good sale price?

Do you have a link, I can't see anything.
@sketchyskeletor Okay I was informed of it through an email and was gonna send a link but check the MC website now the sales on those items have just started.

Nothing has changed as far as I can see?
I'm up late at night. Ordered Gildor on sale for $12 along with Despara for a normal $20. Would say good buy. I now have four online exclusive figures on my way. Will likely pass on Night stalker (Currently $19.80 compared to it's usual $33). No joke when I got back into MOTU Origins collecting around March and have collected a SH*T TON since, I got Stridor on BBTS sale for $7.50 and yeah that's a huge bargain, so I don't feel the need to get Night Stalker at least for now. Hoping they one day reissue Sy-Klone, Grizzlor (OG Toy based version) and Rokkon.
@sketchyskeletor IDK Like I said earlier that morning I made one MC purchase and later they send me the email about the sale and yeah it works on my end. Maybe for you try the site again in a few hours if you have an MC account.
I'm catching up a bit on the Cartoon Collection line. Grizzlor is a fine figure. A shame he has 5 fingers though. The accessory is cute but would have preferred an Imp or something.
The only Frosta I found has weird eye paint. One eye is fine but the other has her pupil obscured by a white "reflection" dot. Is this common?
Are Catra and Leech now rare? No one seems to have them or get new orders filled on them...
I'm very unhappy that there is no She-Ra panel at SDCC. It's her 40th! Now I'm worried about her figures too.....we still need so many characters in the Cartoon Collection: Scorpia, Sea Hawk, Adora, Glimmer, Angella, Swift Wind, etc, etc...
Y'all told me to keep the faith until SDCC...
@disneyboy no She-Ra panel? Damn. I was hoping they would at least have some acknowledge the 2018 series’ existence I know I know Dreamworks but they’re acting as if only the Filmation toon is the only She-Ra thing in existence for this 40th anniversary. Also you forgot to mention Entrapta. Again I will take any Entrapta figure I can get.
Also Catra and Leech rare? I got my Catra at my local Walmart, granted it was the last one they had and I just looked and both are well in stock on BBTS.
@disneyboy They might include She-Ra in the MOTU panel. She-Ra is a part of MOTU.

They are still treating the brand like it's this small thing that no one is super interested in.
She-Ra is a part of MOTU.
Ans that's exactly how they see it. Not as equal to MOTU. Just a small part of MOTU, just like NA, and the Dolph movie, and the Netflix reboot and 200X....
Except it isn't. It's its own property, with it's own fans, it's own reboots and toys and impact and worthy of its own moment in the spotlight.
Certainly more than 5 minutes of a MOTU panel.
This does not bode well for the non-Horde, more "girly" side of the POP section of the Cartoon Collection.
Not sure how I would feel about a Horde Prime (and how would they make him; a big cloud with a hand the size of an Origins figure reaching out of it?).
I mean he is a good explanation for why Hordak has the luxury to be completely wrapped up with a single planet even though the Horde is an empire that governs over multiple solar systems. But it does effectily makes him a underling; with a lot of freedom to do as pleased as opposed to someone like TrapJaw or Beastman but still underling.
It would probably had made more sense to have Catra fill his role and him and Shadow Weaver be a more of a "now shits is getting real" galactic overlord presence with far more exposure than Prime had but far less then he had. That could had spun out as a big thread that looms over all MOTU worlds if it had continued.
But I guess he could not have filled the subconscious role of narcistic, possessive & abusive boyfriend that wants his girl back role then.
Anyone hate or at least annoyed that some of the recent CC figures that look amazing, such as Man-E, Tri-Klops and Hordak and a few others don't have weapon accessories?
I mean yeah each CC figure comes with an accessory based on a specific Filmation episode (Except Man-E for some reason) which is an awesome idea, but MOTU figures coming without a sword, melee weapon, blaster, etc. just feels wrong. I honestly don't care if it was accurate or not to the cartoon whether they ever used any weapons these figures just don't feel complete without them. Did Man-E ever use his blaster from his original toy? Did Tri-klops ever use his sword from his original toy?
From what I've seen of Filmation (haven't watched all the episodes yet) I can't recall and am pretty sure no. I know it's called CARTOON Collection, but I don't think that means the figures always need to be completely cartoon accurate in terms of what accessories are included. And I think I have a good point because the Wave 1 Skeletor comes with his purple Power Sword that was never in the cartoon.
And I really have this issue all because of one figure. One figure that has this tiny little nitpick despite everything else being great and would basically be among my favorites if it didn't have it.
CC Hordak. Hordak can literally turn into anything and all they give him is a ball with a handle. I've seen the episode. I know that this is a time stop device, but for this to be the only accessories that you give in a great figure of the franchise's 2nd biggest baddie just feels insulting. I like to pretend it's one of those heavy things you swing around idk what you call them, to at least pretend that it's SOMETHING he can fight with. At the very least they could've given him his damn arm cannon to swap his normal arm with.
Yeah I rambled but do any of you also have this small-yet-feels-big pet peeve?
If you grew up with the cartoon and watched all the episodes over and over again I think you would feel differently. Pixel Dan feels like you and he just turned 40. Fans that are older look at a CC Hordak and know giving him a weapon would feel completely wrong.
