@sketchyskeletor Sure! 👍 The two dollar signs ($$) means that it will be under $100. 😁
@depp76 Thanks for sharing and clarifying such a sensitive detail. Given that the previous figures have remained available despite the infamous paywall introduced over the last few months, I'm not going to worry too much about this playset making it through the "decisive 24 hours" before the official sale day.
May be interested in getting the Fright Zone when it releases. Under $100 and the pictures look nice. What was the original playset like in terms of features?
@slycooperastroboy51 Not much...the puppet monster, the cage, and the trap tree on top.
Any speculation on how much the Fright Zone may cost judging from it's size?
@slycooperastroboy51 If it's over $100 we riot. Castle Grayskull was $80 as was Snake Mountain. With how much smaller the Fright Zone is a retail release should be less, like $60, bur with inflation that would probably still be $80, but this is a Club Grayskull release so it mostly likely has a smaller production run meaning a higher price.

Always happy to get more women, hopefully she'll use the CC or MOTUXTC body.

good call! That’d be a nice surprise.
Slowly building out the POG characters, and one that we never got before as a figure! Now we're talking.
Of course now all of a sudden The Fright Zone has been removed from the Mattel Creations launch calendar. Not cool. 😣
@depp76 Is this an attempt to gauge the fandom's interest throughout the internet? Or am I simply overestimating their understanding of the word "strategy"?😱
I think they have stock they desperately need to shift and won't really worry about how they do it - like I can't even remember how the product photos came about (there hasn't been an official announcement, has there?), and The Whole Shebang listed it at an extortionate price for some reason.@depp76 Is this an attempt to gauge the fandom's interest throughout the internet? I mean you'd assume it'd reach retail for She-Ra's 40th but Mattel are gonna Mattel.
Just acquired annoying voiced 80s lesbian (CC Catra) and $10 Walmart clearance Turtles of Grayskull Leatherhead DAMMIT! It's not the figure, but more I was tempted like with Cartoon Collection when I saw a deluxe figure/2-pack on a great clearance (Adam and Cringer I got for $15 at Target) to start getting invested into another Origins sub-line.
I mean I thought before the figures for both sub-lines looked cool and maybe thought about eventually getting some when I got more normal Origins but at that time and still now I'm focused on collecting the main OG toy based Origins figures with CC and Turtles on the side.
But honestly I only have a few more figures from normal Origins that I haven't got that I want. Mainly Spikor and Meckaneck. Ebay is amazing, ain't it?
It's collector senses. Sometimes, they're a b**ch aren't they? 🤣

Question: If Cartoon Collection is supposed to be Filmation Animation accurate, then why does the Evil-Lyn figure have yellow skin like the original toy?
I know the first two or three CC waves were hit or miss in terms of accuracy with very minor details like He-Man and Skeletor, but I don’t recall a Filmation episode where Lyn had a slightly bad tanning session. A major inaccuracy that can’t be ignored by simply looking at it.
@slycooperastroboy51 Her skin tone was somewhat inconsistent in the cartoon. Some times she looked like she was a light skinned Hispanic, sometime she looked like she had jaundice.

Does anyone have an idea of when the next CC wave coming in fall (Shadow Weaver, Bow, Whiplash) will be out? September? October?
We know Scorpia is coming but that's only 1/3 of the wave after that. I know the packaging art for many Origins figures/vehicles cleverly gives hints at who to expect in terms of upcoming figures.
This is in contrast to being a Transformers fan and having an entire list of listings leak every year of what most of the figures of the next year will be in advance of which Hasbro has done nothing to stop for years like give these listings codenames or something and therefor no surprise for new official figure reveals. On top of image leaks in advance of official reveals.
As a fan of both franchises, I find the extreme contrast funny. Though I'm sure MOTU figure leaks happen still here and there.
So what I'm also asking is from looking at packaging hints from recent waves, what unannounced figures do you guys expect to come soon in the future?
@slycooperastroboy51 we usually see the "fall wave" at the end of summer, so August or September, then we'll possibly see the first of 2026's assortment in November.
As for who's in that first 2026 wave I have no clue, I didn't even know about Scorpia. Hopefully we'll see Sea Hawk soon. If we're going by art work we should be expecting CC Mech-a-neck and Kobra Kahn. I also really want Entrapta.

@smitty-81 ENTRAPTA YES! Even if it's her completely different 80s look from a show that from what I've seen so far she wasn't that important and not her 2018 look, I want one anyways, probably my most wanted MOTU Origins line NGL. If only to put her next to her Hordy. Even better if she came with Imp though I'm sure they didn't interact in Filmation (again, still haven't seen all the episodes).
As She-Ra 2018 was the first really MOTU content I consumed, she and Hordak quickly became my favorite characters and one of my favorite fictional couples in general and they currently tie with Orko and Skeletor as my 4 favorite MOTU characters (across all media for 3/4 out of them).
Love how Entrapta is a nice girl who joins the Horde but it isn't one of those nice girl/bad guy dynamic couples where the girl constantly pesters the guy to stop doing evil stuff (though that's mainly kinda due to her ignorance). She helped Hordak turn, but it was subtle through him remembering her words to him.
One thing I really want from future MOTU content (If the case is a cartoon hopefully a deal can be made with Mattel and Dreamworks for She-Ra characters in general) is for her to be there and to be by Hordak's side, whether bad like in the 80s or ignorantly good like in 2018.
@slycooperastroboy51 I really liked the Netflix She-Ra series for many reasons, but the main one was that it really developed many of the Etherian characters much more than Filmation or any other media ever did. I do wish some of the ties to Eternia were more explicit but I understand the rights issues complicated that. I also liked that we got a complete story. Yes, the ending left it open to further adventures, but I thought everyone's story arc had a satisfying conclusion. I understand the reasons why some people didn't like the show, but I'm glad that it exists. Hopefully, Mattel will acknowledge it more in the future as an alternate canon to POP, much like we have so many different canons for MOTU.
@he-metayer I feel like it'll really influence future interpretations of the characters, whether that be in comic or another MOTU cartoon.
Personally if I were to make a MOTU show it would be about a teenage Adam and Adora who grew up together, their He-Man/She-Ra identities aren't secret, but rather a generational royal birthright everyone knows. Randor was the previous He-Man. Royal firstborn a boy becomes that generation's He-Man. Firstborn a girl, same thing with She-Ra though way more rare through the generations and since their twins, these still somewhat inexperienced and sibling arguing teens now have to lead all the Masters, who are all mostly adults aside from their closest friends like Ram-Man, Glimmer and Bow (latter two Adora met at Etherian boarding school) to fight Skeletor and Co. for some macguffins that'll lead them to the ancient hidden Castle Grayskull rather then them just always knowing where it is.
Though I'm still consuming content and wouldn't say I'm a diehard MOTU fan just yet, but I think I have unique ideas of how I would execute Skeletor and Hordak as characters.
@slycooperastroboy51 What frustrates me is she didn't come with a cape.

^^^ This, x100
It would have been so easy for Mattel to include one... it would have been more cartoon accurate, and it would have cost the company almost nothing to do it.
