Sooo, what do we think Mattel is going to announce today for Vintage Origins? I am a little worried that it's all going to be about the upcoming movie. But if it isn't, I personally hope for a road map that will give us the remaining characters of the vintage line over the course of the next year. I am ready to wrap up this collection, Mattel...!

@lasastard I'd say Gray for the Power of Grayskull line, since he was shown alongside the Great Black Wizard in one of their recent presentations. Then there may be a lot of "bla bla" about their new Skeletor and Scareglow, with hints about the possible development of these lines, and the end of the dedicated Motu sequence. Boring as ever...

The only thing I am positive we are going to see is movie stuff.

Two Bad finally? Christ that figure is long overdue.

@kraken God, I totally forgot about him at this point. Beyond weird that he hasn't shown up yet...

What about a Filmation cc Sorceress? She's a main character. It's inexcusable Mattel made a Fang Man but still hasn't made her.

How about a Priest Pythonus in honor of the Snake Lair? You know Mattel really wanted to make that figure.

Laser Power He-Man just revealed.

So, looks like two of those art figures (He-Man w/Battle Cat and Skeletor w/Panthor), Laser Power He-Man, and a not-Lego Castle Grayskull from the movie. I think that's it.

No more new characters, PoG, etc after this year?

@cosmic they gave us Great Black Wizard, Red Shadow, Sting-or and Sharella. I don’t see them stopping when the VC is finished

Yes. I definitely still want Strobo and Plasmar as well as PoP, VC or CC I'll take what ever female figures they give us. Id also love yo see 87 movie VC figures and as I've said before New Adventures (VC), the way it should have been.

Yes. I definitely still want Strobo and Plasmar as well as PoP, VC or CC I'll take what ever female figures they give us. Id also love yo see 87 movie VC figures and as I've said before New Adventures (VC), the way it should have been. 

 

This is the way. Fishing the vintage and then give us the new adds.

I cannot put my finger on it, but something about that Laser Power He-man left me very underwhelmed. I thought I was gonna order whatever Vintage releases they revealed but when looking at it on the website, I was like ...meh.

Adding another headsculpt would have helped a little I think.

Yeah I don’t really like these boxes much anyway. Or really any of the “collector friendly” packaging.

I love to keep the illustrated packaging but much prefer when I just keep the card back, cut off the plastic, easy peasy.

With the boxes it’s deciding, do I keep ‘em or not… even the removable blisters… not good for a pack rat like me 😅 

I loved the bigger Deluxe Cards of the early Origins – especially when they had a lot of stuff to show! Glorious!

I also think this head is not the greatest– hair sits too high, and doesn’t really look like the vintage figure? I guess they wanted to bring together the different inspirations… but it feels a bit underwhelming, yeah. Definitely second head would have been great.

His sculpt is a bit soft and cheap looking.
