no joke getting the infamous Jitsu/Stratos/Sorceress/Buzz-Off wave for $17 on sale at BBTS is back around March is what brought me back to MOTU seemingly for good
in 2019-2020 I watched She-Ra 2018 even saw the finale when it came out and liked it
even for years when I wasn’t a fan I kept a bit of a close eye on news regarding the then in-development hell film because back then from what I knew of the franchise I knew it would make an awesome film and seemingly from test screening reports that’ll exactly be the case when the film finally comes out
in early 2022 as a collector of Transformers and Star Wars Vintage collection I thought to MOTU Origins “why the hell not? I love retro cardbacks and as a toy collector I may as well get into the legendary 80s toy franchise.” Got around seven figures, Battle Cat, Panthor and the Sky Sled while watching a little Filmation before losing interest for whatever reason
since March I’ve collected Castle Grayskull, most of the Origins vehicles (with the exception of the Shark Tank) and no joke probably around 70 Origins figures thanks to online sales and eBay and that’s just an estimate. Normal, Cartoon Collection, TOG, the currently available Mattel Creations exclusives. Watched more Filmation, 200x, Revelation (I knew the controversial twist going in but just thought the show was okay), Revalution (It was WAY better), just finished a rewatch of She-Ra ‘18 (still holds up except for the fact that I don’t think Catra deserved forgiveness). Have read some of the Dark Horse mini-series such as Masterverse, Revolution prequel comics and TOG. Needless to say I’m hyped for the movie.

So today.......I was at the Houston Celebrity Comic Con. Was amazing. First con I've ever been to on this scale. I met John Morris (voice of Andy in Toy Story), 90s child actress Mara Wilson, Jim Cummings and oh some guy you've probably never heard of...... FRANK F**ING WELKER!!
But one other one relates to MOTU. Famed voice actress, Grey DeLisle. The voice of Despara in the final minutes of Revolution. She was very nice, cosplaying as her favorite role, Azula from Avatar (The Nickelodeon cartoon). Got her to sign the cardback of my Mattel Creations Despara. From what I remember she didn't seem to be aware of this figure's existence and I explained. In regards to Despara, she told me Melandy Britt doesn't like her for some reason I don't know why. This may be news to the fandom. I know Britt doesn't like She-Ra 2018 for some reason, but knowing this, is she like against ANYONE new voicing any version of She-Ra or something?
Also this may be weird but what I got her to write above her signature is in the manner of Carmelita Fox from Sly Cooper, another one of her roles I briefly discussed with her (she didn't really have a line in that moment). Seriously if you have a PS4/5 play the Sly games they're great.
I honestly just wanted a signature from Carmelita on the cardback of a one-day-may-be-high-in-aftermarket-price online exclusive figure.

So.....I am starting to watch the 2021 Netflix series and as a guy who grew up with stuff like Transformers Animated and Star Wars The Clone Wars/Rebels, I'm liking this different take.
That being said, while I knew for a while beforehand that this show had a ton of famous voice actor talent Yuri Lownethal, Ben Disken, Roger Craig Smith, David Kaye, Tom Kenny
I AM LITERALLY just finding out now that Grey DeLisle also voiced Evil-lyn in the show! WTF!? Okay had I known that I would've gotten a MIB Evil-Lyn figure for her to sign, but at the same time, the very specifics of me having her sign an online exclusive Mattel Creations cardback of a figure of a character she only voiced for a minute who's an evil version of She-Ra and I asked her to put a phrase Inspector Carmelita Fox (aka one of the many furry awakeners) from the Sly Cooper game franchise would say.
I just find it funny in hindsight.

i dont visit the creation site until day of sale, but anyone else , pissed that the shit we are paying extra for (yes not a lot but still) is all on clearance now? Member figures should always be same price, until the whole thing falls apart.

Fully agree, and I mean it only took ten goes this time to purchase an item that could have been sold across countless etailers without a subscription with an extra £1 thrown on the already extortionate shipping fee. I can't even use the UK store because they don't ship to Northern Ireland. And some people wonder why I call them Cretins...

I like how this Blue Shadow looks in package,… but I ordered only one as usual. Just too many figures and boxes at home already.

It's great to see that Mattel has refused to learn from their past mistakes... and in doing so, has lost a lot of money along the way.

My Starscream Scare Glow has shipped from Creations!
When I got notice that something shipped, I thought it was Red Shadow… But who knows, he might also ship this week, too.
@ornclown Weeell, I only participated in Matty at the very beginning, and I remember never being able to order a figure the first time around. It sold out so fast.
I only got some of the first four figures when they did a second batch, with “The Original” printed on it. Good times.
(I got back into Classics in 2020, collecting the ones I could afford, before moving on to Origins and MV).
Can anyone give me context on this Red Shadow guy? I’m not knowledge enough about the part of the lore based off a toyline that never came out, big surprise.
