I’d love an Entrapta but only with vac metal. That vintage figure looks so cool, I’ve sometimes been tempted… Udo have the MOTU Classics version, love how they interpreted her with the skirt, boots etc. I’d love that, but with Vac Metal, and hopefully hair that is not too heavy.
She's my girl, literally! I've had so much fun with her, and still do. Of course, her heavy hair presents certain challenges, but when you're skilled enough to defy the laws of gravity... Anyway, I'll let you be the judge. Here's a picture of her strangling her victim at the foot of Snake Mountain, which is under siege by the well-known factions of this universe.
Any visual storytelling like this is… backbreaking work. Imagine doing this yourself 😬
I can attest to that, and I use photography.

@sketchyskeletor I’ll leave you alone, we have to agree to disagree,
I did just want to add that there’s still a lot of value there, even tho you don’t enjoy it, Mattel is spending ressources on it, compared to just a bio that a brand manager writes in his lunch break.
Someone has to draw every panel by hand, drawing, drawing,… plus other people involved.
It’s a shame the result is lacking…They draw it too detailed, and then shrink it! That’s why we need a magnifying glass. Maybe they worry it’ll look For Children otherwise.
But, there’s no such thing as a low effort comic. Any visual storytelling like this is… backbreaking work. Imagine doing this yourself 😬
Sorry, coming from the art field, I’ll go to war for them lol.
Don’t ruin this for us who like them lol.
But I’ll drop it now, I get it.
Unfortunately it's the story I'm interested in and they're currently awful. I wouldn't mind at all if they were actually useful in that sense. That's why I'd want a bio card instead. At least those would have a better chance of being workable canon.
But since we are where we are I'd rather the money went towards another accessory or whatever, running a printing press alongside plastic production... when the quality is this bad I'll take plastic if given the choice. Indeed, I kinda suspect that's already happened with 200x if you look at the sculpting and paint hits. It's definitely a cut above.
Comparing the newly announced Masters of the Universe: Origins "Sketchbook Series" MARK TAYLOR HE-MAN figure with the original Mark Taylor "Torak" early concept designs that later evolved into He-Man.

Cretins just sent me a members only sale notification, 25 percent off all the things I just paid full price for - She-Ra, Sting-Or, Hurricane Hordak, you name it. Absolute wankers. Even when they're trying to throw you a bone you get hit in the balls.

Well, some of us are visual people, and much prefer the comics, instead some little write-up about the Fifth Ultimate Battleground. 😏
And I don’t think we have a vote how they spend their money. You presume good ethics on the side of Mattel, to reinvest the money they save from cutting the comics, into better sculpts…? While I assume they pocket the difference and we get nothing / less.
The prices have gotten so high… and the sculpts have already changed in the TCats line (which had comics). At that price point, I sort of expect better anyway. Which I agree, they are more sophisticated. But also they’re less like Origins. Starting w/ the lack of comics OR a bio card. Just… nothing.

But that's just it, when the comics are so crap a dedicated bit of text would likely be better even by accident. Have Axel do it! He's literally written a book.
I'm not presuming anything about Mattel other than them being money-grubbing idiots in the main. I'm actually suggesting they're making considerations for themselves.

@sketchyskeletor You won’t get me to be happy about losing mini comics. 🤷 If you don’t care, fine, but I am upset if you try to turn it into a positive, or try to campaign in favor of it.

Yeesh, I'm stating my opinion, that's all I'm doing! There's nothing to be taken personally here, I'm not campaigning for comics in either direction lol.
@sketchyskeletor Yes, strangely enough, the current selection coincides with Mondo's. They presented Mer-Man, Teela and Orko at the NYCC. However, Roboto is the last character I would reserve the 'oversized figure spot' for, especially since the Beast Man design has yet to be revealed. Anyway, I suppose I digressed somewhat there (lol).
@onlyoneskeletor They already revealed the Teela, Orko and Mer Man 200x figures? I mean they were a 100% GIVEN that they would be made, but I don't remember seeing any images of them when the 200x lineup was first unveiled. I'm guessing they were grayscale prototypes on display?
Did see Roboto. He looks awesome.
(heheh grayscale. Grayskull. Now I'm suddenly convinced many Mattel employees make that soft joke to each other internally)
Can anyone tell me why She-Ra isn't included in any major MOTU crossovers in the past decade? I know she's in the DC one (probably 'cuz DC was publishing these comic duh), but not in Thundercats nor Turtles. And I mean in the comic/toy sides of the franchise.
I know it's a legal hell to this day for Mattel to have the twins kick ass together in animation and share the screen, but they own literally everything else about her aside from the cartoon rights. Also she's confirmed to appear in the upcoming Dragon Pearl of Destruction game, so this just confuses us fans even more.

Assuming we're on the same page and are actually discussing Mondo here, then yes, we saw the digital renders of both Teela with Orko (the latter presented as a bonus accessory) and Mer-Man during their panel at NYCC.

I really can't say. It seems Mattel still seems to think we don't like girl action figures.
Just look at what they did to "celebrate" the 40th anniversary of Princess of Power. We got 4 female characters at "retail"

@onlyoneskeletor Orko? Bonus accessory? Look I know the recent Filmation CC one was small and hard enough to justify buying it for $20 when even if not to scale, the first Origins Orko was already a good enough figure but…
is there like a production character scale sheet like many cartoons have of 200x publicly online? Because I doubt any version of him is small enough to ever be considered just an accessory.
@slycooperastroboy51 I totally get the reasoning here, but having succumbed to the siren's song, I'm kind of relieved they've decided to opt for such a compromise, most notably because of the stratospheric prices Mondo applies.
I hope this reaches Origins eventually, I didn't even know it existed as a kid

@sketchyskeletor I was thrilled at first, thinking it was an Origins vehicle, but then...

I think they’re talking about the Mondo 200X line. With those prices, and Teela being a smaller figure, it might make sense to group these together to justify the price.
Though I do agree that 200x Orko is kinda taller than Filmation… a bit like the vintage toy, actually.
