@smitty-81 nice
Also Mattel I'm assuming really did people dirty by releasing that cartoon (mainly with the hairstyle) Teela variant in the vintage toy style and then literally a year later they come out with an actual cartoon accurate Teela
Are you talking about Teela and Zoar?
They didn't do anyone "dirty" it's a business, and they got to make their money, it's what a business does.

@slycooperastroboy51 If I had to choose one, it would be Toy Kobra Khan, because he’s an important character and solid figure (even though missing his old action feature), or Mantenna because he’s an excellent figure and an important Horde member.
I really like ToG Ram-Man, though he’s not an essential guy. It is fun though that you can make a proper and very good Ram Man out of him, if you have the other two Rammies in the line. But in any case, he’s fun as is, too. Chunky.
I have all the CC’s you’re listing, I like them all, even though I’m not really collecting CC. I’m a vintage toy design guy. Still, that Mantenna looks really really nice, just right out of the cartoon, if u like such things. The CC Teela seems also a good improvement over the first Origins, (hips / upper legs), but I haven’t opened her yet.

I made my hybrid Ram-Man with VC and CC Ram-Man figures with armor from ToG Raph.

It would actually be useful if they did versions of LoP for release alongside, but... Like they keep teasing them and yet some of the villains were released ages ago. Plus you've already got the Sketch series going. Mattel haven't finished a single Origins line, have they?

@sketchyskeletor I’m not really sure what “finishing a line” even means though. Doing all the vintage characters? That won’t happen in the sketchbook line e.g., that’s not what the goal is. We may not even get a He-Man there, and I’m 100% fine with that.
If people are enjoying a line, maybe we shouldn’t ask for… ending it? And if they experiment with a few characters and a mini collection.., that can be refreshing, no?
Like I get it with the Vintage Origins Collection, and I want more variety of characters in Masterverse, but otherwise… we may have to think a bit differently about collecting.

I mean any line, vintage is just the obvious one and there's countless people across social media and Cretins own boards asking for that one. We're 5 and a bit years in and folks want to be done with Mattel because it's been abusive practices from the start. Collecting a toyline shouldn't require an online network, social media, being ready at a moment's notice, paywalls and store exclusives for core faction characters... not one single vintage faction is complete because they keep adding new stuff. After 5+ years. And now we're wondering when we'll get the giants and Eldor for PoG. If we ever do.
200x was already started years ago and dumped. Technically so was She-Ra. LoP too. Sun Man has villains people still ask for.
We've got Sketch and Retro going at the same time. Filmation seems to be on shaky ground because of the sheer amount of upcoming 200x.
And all of this is repeated and actually worse with Masterverse.
The whole process of collecting MOTU is a hobby in itself! That's fucking madness but especially when most of us collect other lines. I haven't even mentioned the crossovers yet. We're on our third!
In short people are actively saying they're fucked off and everything has to end at some point anyway. My god, it could all be mitigated by just going Marvel Legends with Vintage, Filmation and 200x at online retail (no fucking exclusives either!). That's all they'd have to do.
Minimum they need to wrap up vintage. Minimum. Just think how many characters are missing from Filmation alone with no guarantee even a line that potentially small gets finished. It's long past time Mattel bit the bullet.

Don’t say that! Not with "Chest Master" He-Man on the Fright Zone box.

@sketchyskeletor its almost like Mattel wants to keep the line going so they can make money. Unspeakable behavior for a business.
Fucking "abusive" get real.

@onlyoneskeletor Yes definitely get vintage package / Rudy Obrero vibes here (or was it William George?). Those illustrations were incredible and are unsurpassed in regards to atmosphere and mystery.
@sketchyskeletor I guess I don’t mind because my hobby IS collecting just MOTU 🤷
But I never expected they would “complete” those older special releases of “200X”-ish within Origins, or LOP. I just don’t agree with this.
I know the older collectors want to finish the line but I’m not sure, why Mattel would do that. And then what? They want to sell more figures, and keep selling. Just like Marvel Legends btw. It’s also never ending.
I agree it can be tedious, with the exclusives, but I’m ok with that, being on the mail list, I can’t really miss it.
What does upset me when I miss a Masterverse figure and have to chase it and spend exorbitant money b/c I wasn’t fast enough.
But Origins? I’m kind of ok with it, it’s dripping slowly but I am slowing down collecting anyways. This is my kinda page now 🤷
I’m sorry that it’s so frustrating for you and not enjoyable.

As an older collector I don't want it to just end. I do want to get all the vintage characters but I also want VC POP and VC NA and a DC crossover and new VC characters, because this is fun, as toys should be.

@cosmic Yes, it was Rudy. As for the more exclusive Masters of the Universe collector matter, I recently had to accept that fact and content myself passing by other franchises from my childhood while gritting my teeth. On a positive note, I was able to support the Snake Lair a few minutes ago thanks to these types of sacrifices, but at the cost of exploring every available space in my dedicated room in the hope of creating something efficient and worthwhile, not only for me, but for any possible visitor too. As for Masterverse and any pursuit of it, tell me about it! Webstor, Deluxe Man at Arms and NA He-Man are just a few painful names. Trust me, I've learned to catch the bus on time ever since.

Whatever the subline I personally wanna complete it, I don't really see the point of collecting any/so many of them otherwise? I'm a collector lol. I mean at least do the core characters, the previous 200x releases didn't even manage the original eight! And what they did release will now become some half-assed part of a massive collection at best, completely at odds with the upcoming figures.
With Marvel Legends that's why you're seeing the Maximum subline now, they're very near the end of what they can realistically shift after so many years. I've never bought so few Legends as recently and with so much unsold stock I'm not the only one.
Anyway, they actually said they'd complete the vintage line-up, so it's about time they did.
@sketchyskeletor then don't collect them all. Its not Pokémon you can get just the ones you want.

One of the most controversial crowdfunding campaigns of all time is about to come to an end. At this stage, there's a strong possibility that we'll encounter another iteration of the earlier scenario (the Eternia playset). There won't be a High Priest Pythonus on hand to gracefully wrap up the deal.
@onlyoneskeletor I think Mattel needs to set the bar lower.

@smitty-81 Clearly, this should have been considered when the entire offer was re-evaluated. As a result, the Chimera was the only addition to the set, despite having acquired honourable backing from 6,000 people. A huge misstep for all Pythonus fans.

Really, I meant for their next Masters of the Universe crowd fund.If there is another one. As far as Pythonus is concerned I hope they see how popular he is and release him as a CG PoG figure later. PoG is short on characters. After Eldor and GBW who's left?

@smitty-81 I suppose they could still rely on Gray, the more incognito version of He-Ro. According to a 2011 mini-comic published by Dark Horse, there were also a dozen warriors fighting alongside King Grayskull. Their names are: Sir Laser Lot, Gladiator, Beast Lord, Tytus, Veena (200X), Zodak (200X), Bandwidth, Mighty Spector and Moss Man. Enemies: Megator, Quick-Flick, Stretch-Neck (unused), and Serpentor (unused). There are lots of interesting designs, if you ask me. A few of them were exclusively created during a contest celebrating the 30th anniversary of Motu. This media definitely helped to make them more legit in a sense.
@onlyoneskeletor don't a lot of those characters come for Scott Night Lick?
I'd rather get more mix and match Snakemen.
