Are we still working on the conspiracy that only 400 people actually backed it? I'm curious about the data for this.
Wow, where did that come from? Is it supposed to be 4000?

Yeah, there were only 400 backers at the time, and it supposedly jumped an insane amount for (God save us) Lady Slither, but Mattel aren't funding all of that. I still think the numbers are dodgy as fuck though, even including scalpers. Like you'd have to wait a long time to profit from something so overpriced to start with that then got marked up even further.
Oh dear! It seems the Snake Lair is in no hurry to join our shelves. With eight days left, there are still 56 backers needed to make it happen. So lethargic!
Axel's current promotional strategy, which appears to be a potential subliminal approach, has not yet had a significant impact.

I think it'll fund but only barely in crowdfund terms. I fully understand people want it (hell I want it) but overall I'd love to see it fail and hope Mattel learns it's lesson about gouging. It's been a deliberate clown show. The sort that people remember!
I think Axel is inadvertently doing harm to the campaign tbh, because it's realistically 'let's have a look at what you could have won!' with Pythonus.

There's no "gouging" going on with Snake Lair.

@onlyoneskeletor Only needs 7 new backers a day to make it - piece of cake! People procrastinate. I think enough fence-sitters will likely back it on the very last day, which is typical for these crowdfunds. Too bad I won't be one of them, because I do like this thing. It's a lot better than that lame ass Fright Zone (yes, it was a lame, underwhelming playset even in the vintage days).
I hope those who actually want it get it, but at same time i hope it fails. It is odd that it has gone up after the 14th, not a lot, when you get less for same price. Completist are not gonna back it now, so who’s actually buying this after the first deadline?
Mattel needs to learn how to crowdfund. The earlybird thing is stupid.
Cretins just sent out an email claiming they're 50 backers away and if you support it they'll give you 20 percent off select items - they can't even count apparently.
@sketchyskeletor 20% off selected items is a shitty way to go about it when they offered the same dead stock for 50% off b4.

Ah, but they had to throw in the (potentially rider-less) snorse just to get things moving! Lol.
I'm at the point where nothing that company does surprises me.

Rider-less? What you don't already have Lady Slither or King Hiss?

Back then? Probably (from an adult's perspective, at least). The new FZ version? I wish that type of 'lame ass' offering came along much more often! The puppet monster has now turned into a colossal, well-articulated beast; the man-eating tree; the claws emerging from the ground; and the ravens with their wings deployed (much more dynamic and ominous, too...). Last but not least, the details and finish of this product are pretty decent for a MOTUC collector like myself. Scale-wise, it's perfect! In fact, even the recent NE Hordak takes pride of place on this domain (see Super Dave's review on YouTube).
@durendal Well, the Doom Tower playset might be released sooner rather than later, as it seems to be very popular with fans. Judging by the current trend (thanks to Chimera), Mantisaur may well be included in the same release. So exciting!

If they put Mantisaur in a crowdfund people will be fucking furious, and rightly so. They've already had to say they'd look at releasing Keclar and Pythonus due to fan demand.
@sketchyskeletor Please don't get me started on this. How many times have they missed the opportunity to do so? Hordak (classic look): Nothing.
Buzz Saw Hordak (they even pushed the provocation of calling this a deluxe offer while avoiding the inevitable bonus I'm pleading for here).
Hurricane Hordak? Neither! Not to mention that I've been waiting for more than a decade, and there's no way I'm settling for a vintage one available on eBay at this point when the new edition would undoubtedly have a higher level of articulation.
Planet Eternia, a German site, is reporting Origins wave 27 as Adora, Glimmer, and Scorpia. I'm not sure what their source is but that's a good wave if its true.
I don't know why they would have Adora as a single-carded figure and not a pack in with an exclusive 2-pack with another character or included with a new vehicle of some sort that was never in the original toyline but was made for Filmation like a smaller Horde vehicle (there must be a good candidate) and it wouldn't be out of the question considering they recently made the Collector.
I mean what I'm describing is basically Origins Adam, both toy and CC versions. I feel like if you want good figures of the main heroes' normal selves/secret identities, even if they're well made, they should include something more than just a sword.
Scorpia no surprise there have been a few sources for her for a while. I love Mattel is giving us (almost) all of the main Filmation Horde members in CC at main retail with no online exclusives like with Toy based Grizzlor. Emphasis on main Horde members, though Vultak looks cool, may get him.
I know there's been complaints of the lack of Great Rebellion members, and yeah I get it, but when it comes to CC, I like and care about the Horde side of characters more. That being said, I had no interest in getting Bow before but now since Glimmer is just about almost confirmed, suddenly I want him just so I can have the Filmation version of the Best Friends Squad trio.
@sketchyskeletor They should release them as a sorcerer themed 2-pack. It could even become another subline if we really want to get into the weeds...
So I'm confused. Do y'all actually want the Snake Lair or not? I'm seeing some discourse on whether it should be backed or not.

Basically most want it but that price shut down even consideration for said people. It's left diehards (or those who only collect MOTU) and scalpers to fund it. That's why it's still crawling along.
@slycooperastroboy51 I'm cool with the discourse and I backed the Snake Lair. I like the design. It's cool. But the price and the way Mattel went about this one still irritates the hell of me. Unhappy customers can still be customers.
@onlyoneskeletor Fright Zone was always my favorite playset, because it’s a diorama. Loved it as a kid, even though I couldn’t have it. It inspired a lot of imagination.
The old one rocked, the new one, too! Can’t wait to get mine.
