@sketchyskeletor Even if I don't desire to become a TC fan? I mean I already collect enough toys I don't wanna get addicted to another franchise.
At the very least I have interest in Lion-O and Cheetara since they're two iconic 80s pop culture characters and hopefully by then my mind won't drug me into buying more.
BTW AYOOO First post of mine since the site has been fixed!
For once a mini comic proves useful!
You think they'll make more of these and y'know.....an ACTUAL MOTU BASED TRANSFORMERS FIGURE?
Seriously Skeletron and Bee-at-arms are cool, pre-ordered Skeletron, but this cannot be it in terms of a MOTU x TF collab.
Sigh...I've got crossover fatigue. I was fine with the TOG because there were some really interesting designs, but I'm less enthused about MOTUCats (variants already in friggin' wave 2??) and now these...all while VC and CC are being largely ignored.
Same. I only want the TC lot as Origins versions of that cast. Their He-Man purely to build King Grayskull (though there's a good chance we're getting him in 200x now anyway of course).
I ordered the TF lot because I thought they might sell out even though I only like Skeletor lol. The concept is weak as piss but I'm liking that daft Scareglow/Screamer already!
I basically just pick and choose with them all, but yeah, it's all about dragging out Origins. Something they never would have had to do with normal distribution!
By VC you mean Vintage Collection like in toy based?
Yeah I know it's a struggle, but I think I know how Mattel can finally speed up the process: Soft rebooting Origins as a whole
What do I mean by this? I'm really thinking it's very possible they'll rerelease a good amount of the first waves of Origins next year at retail stores for some sweet, sweet corporate synergy with the upcoming film and by this point, Mattel may have learned some lessons and this'll basically be a fresh start for the whole line at Targets, Walmarts and Gamestops (did they sell Origins figures prior to the Speedo Stratos wave?)
but at the same time not?
He-Man and Skeletor with their vintage heads from the start, the improved female legs, better quality control, yeah fresh start. The best reissues for store shelves they can do. No variants.
But what about the missing 80s characters they still haven't made you may be asking? Well, if the potential success of the movie, thus good sales of this "Soft relaunch" as I would call it, it'll finally give Mattel a wake up call to lock tf in and really get to work on those still missing characters.
Anyone get the picture?
Welcome back! I was one of those people who practically camped out at the entrance of the forum for days.

Yup, they have real presence once you throw all the unnecessaries in a drawer!
With TFs, they're already hinting at He-Man/Prime and Screamer/Scareglow, so... thing is I just don't expect it to go far because it's a weak-ass concept. Armour? Really?
I hope you're right about stores, especially since Vintage was practically ignored at SDCC, but Mattel are DUMB. Like hit with a sledgehammer to the skull dumb. And 200x had a hell of a line-up at SDCC to go alongside any movie stuff.
Definitely don't sleep on the Thundercats crossover, once you get all the unnecessary crap off them they're great figures even if you only have a passing interest!
Only if they confirm Snarf and the Thunderkittens, I won't be buying any at all if they don't make all I'd want
I'm actually not even a TC fan, but I DID like that one MotU/TC crossover comic, and it did sell me on the idea of having the full TC team + Mumm-Ra to recreate some of those scenes.
But that would be the extent. Not interested in weird variants of the MotU cast, the Battle Cat Man toy is too doofy and crappy looking compared to the cool one in the comic crossover that he's an easy pass, and the comic actually had inverse effect of ensuring i DONT want any Mutants, because they all looked so bland and drab compared to the Evil Warriors when they were together.
But all that aside, yeah, that comic DID at least make the Cats and Mumm-Ra look appealing
@sketchyskeletor I told y'all the mini comic would explain things.

@slycooperastroboy51 Hasbro most likely will. They made Transforming Hot Wheels after Mattel made Hot Wheels of Transformers.
Also here are some images from the video above.

I like that they did not give Megatron Armor Skeletor all tens or mostly tens as they used to do with Megatron. But I think Bumblebee Man-at-Arms' tech specs are off, some of those numbers should be higher.

@sketchyskeletor But… Super7’s offerings are huge and very pricey? Isn’t that exactly what you’re arguing against?
Yes they do retail with it after, but I couldn’t jump on that, w/ that price and size. That would be the equivalent of the original SL design. 🤔
I mean the fans who can afford it are happy, it’s probably worth that price ($600 Playset? $400-500 tank?). It is a 1:12 scale.
I’m happy they exist. They’re just not for me.

The point I'm making is a retail-sized playset from a billion dollar company doesn't even need to be a thing when much smaller competitors are doing just that and much better with properties they don't actually own.
@sketchyskeletor I couldn't agree more. I mean, when Super7 took back the Motuc Snake Mountain project they simply entered in history.
@onlyoneskeletor I think with Super7 being an "adult collector" company and Mattel being a "toy" company there's different red tape for them to deal with. Mattel toys need to pass that 3 and up standard, while S7 has a 14 and up label.

He's literally been in my POL for like two weeks lol.

Well, there was a time when Mattel encountered a bug in its matrix, producing a Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull dedicated to adult collectors in 2012. It was offered in the same context as the Snake Lair, which was funded through crowdfunding and cost $250. This demonstrated that there were enough fans around the globe ready for more.
@smitty-81 The end of the TF mini-comic, SPOILERS!!
could've waited until I got the figures and read the mini-comics before knowing at what they're hinting at next!
Ehh it's alright, this is a forum, I'm complaining about a mini-comic, no biggy
Have no real attachment to Scareglow as a character. He's one of the only prominent figures of the original toyline that I don't have the Origins figure of
But Starscream is my favorite Transformer, probably within my top fifteen or ten fictional characters hell yeah I'm pre-ordering Scarescream Starglow Squarepants as soon as they announce him.
Teela as Elita-One: Arcee has become the de facto default female Transformer since she was the first prominent one, but I'm glad they're giving ones like Windblade, Chromia and especially Elita way more time to shine to the point where she's making her way up to a franchise A-lister. This one just seems like a very natural fit.
Trap Jaw as Soundwave: IDK I think it fits as well as Bumblebee and Duncan in that their only real similarity is the role they play in their franchises.
Tri-Klops as Shockwave: Self-explanatory. Even more when you consider that in 200x, Klops was really characterized as the science guy of the baddie group.
Man-E-Faces as Blitzwing: Yeah one's a goody and one's a baddie, but in Transformers Animated, Blitzwing in that is straight up based on Man-E except his changing faces give him a funny triple split personality.
Hordak as Galvatron: There are a few Transformers continuities where Megs and Galv are separate guys, best example would be the IDW comics and I think even in ones where they are the same guy but meet via time travel or whatever, they loathe each other, which I would say is comparable to Skel and Hordy.
Ram Man as Bulkhead: I know some think Ironhide would be way more fitting but Bulkhead.....
Some of you may not know of this guy's existence but to me it feels like he's always been there and Hasbro shafted him. Had my childhood TF phase at age 6-7 with Transformers Animated, where he was apart of the main cast, as well as in TF Prime, one if not the most acclaimed show in the franchise.....and then Hasbro mostly shafted him just because he didn't originate in G1. The worst film, Age of Extinction had a bot voiced by John Goodman who was basically Bulkhead in all but name, Hound, a G1 nameslap. Thankfully Hasbro may be starting to slowly ease him back into prominence with a recent figure in the Legacy line and an announced upcoming appearance in the amazing Skybound comics. But I understand this is as likely as Mer Man cosplaying as Seaspray.
Also in TF Animated, him and Starscream were voiced by Patrick and Spongebob respectively.
These are just some good suggestions.
It was actually $300. 😁@onlyoneskeletor I think with Super7 being an "adult collector" company and Mattel being a "toy" company there's different red tape for them to deal with. Mattel toys need to pass that 3 and up standard, while S7 has a 14 and up label.

Absolutely, but only a posteriori to the fundraising campaign. The invoice never lies, LOL. A small number of these playsets were made available at the price you mentioned via the online store much later. Fans had to be rewarded for their support. Let's just say it was the "early bird" of its time.
Shouldn't Buzz-Off be wearing Bumblebee armor..?
Just sayin'.......
