Hmmm... What if Mattel had not only reproduced the colour shades, but also adopted the same mould for the fortress? This reference always sells well, so to me, this is probably another missed opportunity.

IDK; I feel they got the release/availability of this and the Fright Zone playset confused with each other. 🤣

I'm good with the one I have; I'd rather get a new different playset like the Snake Lair or Fright Zone without jumping through burning hoops from some normal retail/online store. I think I got why they did what they did but IMO lost any argument against regular new playset releases the moment they dropped that Grayskull repaint set.

Damn straight. Just do a proper resculpt or don't do it all.

This is a waste of time and money. There's no new sculpting, so it's NOT the Mark Taylor version - just a cheap, lazy repaint. Classic Mattel.

This is just a lazy expensive repaint to cover the cost of their bumbled Snake Lair no one wants.

When at first your Snake Lair isn't well received... resell a repainted Castle Grayskull..? I'm not quite sure who or why this was made. Mattel must have the original concept and design work for the Mark Taylor Castle Grayskull so why wouldn't you create and resell that? If you're trying to get fans to rebuy a playset that they already have you could at least spend the time and effort to do it properly.

Mattel had a lot of huge swings today, with most of them being hits IMO, but this isn't one of them.
